Guest guest
I've always found it interesting that in West Bengal, the night before Deepavali is celebrated as Kali Puja day. You have to pass through the Dark Mother (Kali) to discover the Bright Mother (Lakshmi). Also, Kali's tenth MahaVidya form is Kamala, the Lotus Lady, a form of Lakshmi. And Lakshmi accompanies Vishnu's tenth avatar Kalki as his consort, BhadraKali. So on some level, fierce Kali and gentle Lakshmi are two sides of the same coin. -- Len/ Kalipadma On Sun, 26 Oct 2003 01:42:13 +0100 "Neil Campbell" <pashu writes: > > > We have to go through darkness to find the true Dipavali, > which is one reason that it is held on the darkest night of the > month. > "From darkness lead us unto the Light." > It happens from within the darkness of our soul. > Bit by bit, day by day we become lighter by, > through profound surrender, > shedding the me. > > > ~ Swami Atmaswarupananda > ______________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
