Could anyone tell me some of the things done during the festival for him. I'd like to do somethings, but I'm unsure as to what to do. Guest guest Posted September 7, 2005 Report Share Posted September 7, 2005 If you type in the words Ganesh Chaturthi in any search engine you can find tons of Info, usually devotees will make a temporary festival shrine with a colofull clay murthi of Ganesha either made buy the devotee or bought for the occassion. you worship him durring this time daily offering sweets fruits flowers this also an auspicous time to install ganesha yantras and begin jappa useing ganesha mantras. on the final day usually 10 days after ganesh chaturthi day you immerse the clay murthi in a body of water idealy in the ocean but rivers lakes and ponds work too. you should also try to visit a ganesha temple or a ganesha shrine in any temple if your looking for ganesha devotional music http://www.musicindiaonline.com/ is a good place to help in celebrateing ganesha's birthday! hope this helps HAPPY GANESH CHATURTHI!
