Guest guest
MARS RETROGRADE "The following countries may be adversely affected by Mars' retrograde placement in Aries at this time: England, Palestine, Lebanon, Poland, Japan, Syria and Germany." By Drew Lawrence drewjlawrence www.drewlawrence.com Mars will go into retrograde or backward motion from October 2nd to December 10th, 2005. Mars is the planet of energy, achievement, realization of goals and objectives, dynamic action, enterprise and initiative. However, Mars is also the instigator of challenges, obstacles, stumbling blocks, dangers, reversal, anger, frustration, resentment, criticism, blame, guilt, accident, injury, surgery, violence, war and terrorism. It should be evident that since Mars' entry into the sign of Aries on July 18th, there have been several airplane crashes, storms, terrorist acts (ongoing), and various other kinds of devastation. The entire city of New Orleans was inundated by floods, for example. When Mars travels backwards, things will likely become worse in our world before they get better. Though Mars typically remains in a sign for one month, he will remain in Aries from July, 2005 until February, 2006. This is a long and dangerous period. New plans and initiatives may backfire or run afoul with Mars retrograde. Things may develop too slowly or fail to sufficiently gain momentum. You may feel you are moving backwards or are being held in a state of suspended animation. Your actions may prove to be self-defeating or fraught with self-sabotage. Subsequently, it is not the best time to undertake activities and enterprises that require a lot of effort, daring and energy. Where adventure and challenge are called for, retrograde Mars will not provide sufficient support. If extended effort as well as vigorous physical exertion are required, you may find yourself shrinking from the task. Mars' energy at this time is being diverted toward affairs that are less worldly, concrete and practical. The neglected past may well reappear to haunt you once again during this period. There is a need for reflection on old plans and proposals that may now be covered in cobwebs. Past projects and unfinished activities demand a re-channelling of energies and a fresh focus so that they may be brought to completion. This is an excellent time for the planning stages of new projects, introspection and spiritual pursuits. Also a good opportunity for rest and recreation. Avoid impatience and lack of restraint by demanding that new endeavours go forward prematurely. This could well backfire and you may be forced to begin again when Mars moves into forward motion. Or you may decide to abandon your plan altogether in favour of a different pursuit. Do not let restlessness or impulsiveness govern important decisions or actions. Avoid laziness, lethargy, unproductiveness and wayward or depleting behaviour. Areas of friction and confrontation may cry out for closure. If you have the following positions in your Vedic birth chart, I would advise you to be especially careful during the retrograde motion of Mars, namely, the Ascendant, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Ketu or Saturn in Aries at the time of your birth. Avoid physical risks, danger and reckless behaviour. If you find yourself with a build-up of anger, frustration, resentment or guilt, try to release it or resolve it as quickly as possible. Such negative energy simmering under the surface can easily result in an accident, injury, wound or a need for surgery. Do not let a potentially volcanic circumstance build up pressure within your subconscious mind. Release it and let it go. The good news is that Jupiter will be in Libra over this period of time and will cast a benevolent aspect on this retrograde, destructive Mars. That should result in defusing and pacifying some of the tension that Mars will likely incite in our world.
