Guest guest
BJP-MAHILA JAIPUR, NOV 21 (PTI) BJP Mahila Morcha will organise a one-day national meet on women's empowerment in politics here on December three. About 50,000 delegates, including party's women MPs and MLAs, are expected to participate in the meet, Mahila Morcha national president Karuna Shukla told reporters here today. The meet named 'Akhil Bhartiya Matrashakti Sammelan' would concentrate on 33 per cent reservation for women in politics, Shukla said. The UPA government headed by Manmohan Singh was reluctant to get the women's reservation bill passed, she alleged. BJP had earlier given a "blank cheque" to the Central Government to ensure the passage of the bill, but the UPA government did not want it right now probably, she alleged. A resolution on women's empowerment would be passed at the meet which will be addressed by party president L K Advani and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, and herself in the morning session, she said. The concluding session is likely to be addressed by former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, she said. http://www.outlookindia.com/pti_news.asp?id=336411
