Guest guest
Chinese Couple's Vedic Wedding Chinese couple tie knot as per Vedic traditions Korba, Chhattisgarh: A Chinese couple tied the nuptial knot according to vedic rituals here as the groom, working in India since three years, was enamoured by the country's culture. The groom Zheng Weng, an engineer, came to India three years ago to set up a thermal power plant for a private company. His wedding had been fixed to childhood friend Lee Chun even before he came here. During his stay, Mr Zheng was so impressed by Indian culture that he called his fiancee to India for the marriage. The bride's family arrived here two days before the wedding. The couple got married yesterday. The groom -- dressed in golden 'sherwani' and Rajasthani turban -- reached the wedding portico along with the marriage party, which was received by the bride's family members, who were dressed in 'dhotis' and 'kurtas'. The couple exchanged garlands and took seven rounds of the fire amidst rendition of Vedic chants. Mr Zheng tied 'Mangalsutra' around the bride's neck and applied 'sindoor' on her forehead. Besides company officials, local residents were present to witness the marriage ceremony. http://www.newkerala.com/news.php?action=fullnews&id=97446
