Choultries accommodating 10,000 pilgrims to be built in Tirumala Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh: Three Choultries that can accommodate 10,000 pilgrims would be constructed at the temple town Tirumala at a cost of Rs 55 crore. The decision was taken at a meeting of the TTD Trust Board which met under the Chairmanship of Union Minister of State for Mines T Subba Rami Reddy. This was the first time in the history of the TTD that the Chairman had presided over the meeting in the capacity of a minister. Subba Rami Reddy said that the board had also decided to construct another choultry Complex at Tirupati. It has also sanctioned Rs 1.7 crore for constructing a dining hall for Vedic Pandits.
