Guest guest
Began Kundalini Yoga with Yogi Bhajan in the early seventies while in an Ashram in Phoenix which was then an old house on the "poor" side of town. Being raised Catholic, I always wrestled with the materialistic mannerisms of American Sikhs - gave away all possessions and took jobs pulling weeds to typing pools . . . also was able to listen to and transcribe lectures that Yogi Bhajan was giving at UCLA - his English gave way to new challenge - especially in literal sense - I was "secretary" (I still have old mimeograph sheets of what I had then "transcribed...) My then husband and I left 3HO but I continued doing Sadhana - a week before my son Jordan's birth and subsequently during and after his home birth I had a "white light" experience which, after "symptoms" of psychosis presented themselves (to my surprise...) - spent several years in psychiatric hospitals consequently loosing custodial rights of both my young children. Twenty - two years and two husbands later - I still practice Kundalini Yoga - more? ( Are you bored??) My gratitude in advance for allowing me to indulge my self... My name for many years was Daya Jyoti Kaur . I am very glad there is a "site" such as this! Without a Guide, a Guru, what is one to do?!! May the Long time sunshine upon you...all love surround you ...and the pure light within you... guide your way on........Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo! S A T N A M Anyone have thoughts re Siri Singh Sahib Y.Bhajan? Namaste

Corinne Welcome to Kundaliniyoga. I read all you had to say with great interest. You have certainly experienced both the good and the bad side of Kundalini. Perhaps you could tell us more about your early days with Yogi Bhajan. It would be most informative. He has achieved so much since he first came to the West. At the moment I am studying from one of his books, and I have read about him at the yogibhajan web site, and watched one of his web-tv demonstrations. Guest guest
The Sikhnet Sites are really Very excellent - Gurumustuk Singh is the young and talented "creator"- his young years in India are among first photos and His wedding photos are a pleasant visit - He and his wife and all of 3HO persons I hold dear - they just never seem to venture into climates that are anything less cool in temperate zones than India - Tucson - Phoenix - New Mexico EsPanola and L.A. Being an advocate of non-violence and having been offered in hand of marriage at Ghandi's tomb >>(romantic, no?) I adhere to teachings of Thomas Merton (Catholic/Budhist Monk) and have "fallen" as "teachers" who go by the wayside (ie., Leave the Organization) I would like to repair the broken mala beads of the 70's with rose petals of rosaries today. Approach, approach, avoidance, avoidance..>INHALE AND HOLD!!> Well, I will try - and Sat Nham Wha Guru KiFateh Wha Guru ....EkOng Kar Sat Name Siri Wha Guru.....Kirtan is Actually Heard on Sikhnet Website as well as subscription lists for Daily Readings from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib Sat Siri Akal!!! I am sure there would be Sikhs enlisting on this site as I speak. There Is No "BAD" side - only what our feeble minds experience as suchI have very positive reflection of my life and geez - my current husband is AfroAmerican man of voice - sings with the Baptist Choir > Breathing techniques beneficial for pulmunary patients - Energizing BOF - must be approached with teacher's guidance and temperance. You are most fortunate that you have your Youth!! > > > > Perhaps you could tell us more about your early days with Yogi Bhajan.
