Gordon, I asked someone, but didn't get an answer. Do KY teachers all complete kundalini awakening before teaching or do they teach the techniques of yoga, breathing etc. without necessarily having experienced the awakening themselves. I'm pretty new to all the paths as you may recall and mean no offense in posing the question. I simply don't know the answer and would like to. Guest guest
Hi Katrina Welcome to Kundaliniyoga. You have come to a good place to learn. We have already got some of the basics on our website (http://www.gtmark.com/ Why not take a look around (section KYIntro), especially at the spinal exercise set, and come back here with any questions that you would like answered. There are also links to websites owned by various KY teachers, mainly in the States, and also to the IKYTA site which lists registered teachers throughout the world. Sat Nam! Guest guest
Dear Tamra, That is a good question. > Do KY teachers all complete > kundalini awakening before teaching or do they teach the techniques of yoga, > breathing etc. without necessarily having experienced the awakening > themselves. KY teachers compete a course and an exam to qualify them to teach. We would all like to be awakened, but that is something that we can't plan or control. The path of KY as taught by Yogi Bhajan helps us prepare for the awakening which is gradual. With practice, we become more and more conscious and aware. And there are many ways to speed up the awakening. The practice of KY is one and service, teaching and helping others also help us open our hearts. Someone asked about curing physical problems with KY. Personally I got rid of back aches, especially lower back. Nothing like spinal flexes every day to reduce or eliminate lower back aches. Guest guest
Hi Tamra Firstly I would say that I am not the best person to whom this question should be addressed. Having said that, IMO it is not necessary to be K-awake to introduce folk to the techniques and practices of KY. A lot would depend on the level of the students to whom you were giving instruction. Your Kundalini list is going well right now - it has certainly got a lot busier over the last few weeks. (Tamra is co-owner of the list Kundalini ) Sat Nam!
