Guest guest
Dairy will drain you of energy because the body doesn't know what to do with it. We are the only species that continues to eat dairy past our growing stage of adolescence. The body gets overwhelmed by dairy and thus gets groggy. I cut it out of my life and had a renewed sense of energy. Excess fat and carbohydrates will also drain you. Caffenine and sugar give you quick energy with a bad pitfall later making you more tired than before. Protein fills you up when you are hungry and gives you a nice energy and mental clarity. Try a glass of soy milk in the AM and not eating anything for another 15 minutes, at least. Then stick to whole grain cereals.
Guest guest
Hello everyone, I'm sending this question out to all the list i'm on in the hopes of gaining some informative insight on energy. My question is are there certain foods that seem to give you more energy than others? And are there foods that actually feel like they drain you of your energy? And could you give some examples of these. Thank everyone for responding. Blessings and Love, Leslie _____________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Guest guest
There is a lot of personal testament from vegans that cutting out all animal foods from the diet increases energy and psychic clarity. Of course, if you're eating any refined foods in any diet, such as any refined sugars, or degermed flour, your body has to work harder and actually uses up nutrients to digest such junk foods, and you will feel the draining effects of that. >From the personal research into diet I have done, being a raw foodist is the most efficient use of the digestive system, returns the body to it's most natural state, and increase mental clarity and energy. We are the only species that cooks its food, and it is a fairly recent practice when you think about how long humans inhabited the earth before they harnessed the power of fire. Cooking food destroys most of the enzymes which the body would naturally use for nutrients. Eating cooked foods requires us to eat more, and the body has to produce more stomach acid, and more toxins build up. I'm Vegan. (I wish I could be a raw foodist- I'm still working to conquer my allergy to raw foods) I know that the only things that cause me to lose energy are caffeine, sugar and breads made of refined flours- like the average bagel, for instance. This is just my experience. And, it helps to favor organic foods over regular. So I stopped doing that. Gave up land animals and then also let go of sea-animals a month or two later. Then I felt the call to let go of dairy. So I mostly (didn't examine breads and cakes and such too closely) did that too. I was most vegan for 3 1/2 years. Recently I added back fish and diary and noticed some spaciness seemed to go away and also some peacefulness. I've experimented with adding back some other things but I noticed that I have honestly got to where I don't like most of them as much as good veggies. A lot of breads and sugars drain me. Soft drinks are one habit I still indulge that feel often like they are scratching up my energy profile and adding a lot of jumpiness. Just things I've felt along the way. - samantha

Meat drags me down. I don't drink milk. Strawberries, and just about any other kind of berry makes my energy levels go off the scale....but I wonder if that is also not a mental thing?? I love them so. Susan > > > Thank everyone for responding. > > Blessings and Love, > > Leslie > > _____________ > Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Guest guest
Dear Samantha, RE FOOD I have a couple guidelines, no stimulants (coffee, black tea), NO refined sugar, no junk, no processed food, no wheat, no cow dairy, no fried foods (except stir fries), no meat, fish. That leaves only real food. The trick is to get enough protein. Susan gave one of the secrets to a vegetarian diet--Dahl. Actually any bean or pea with some grains. Then vegies, cooked and raw. Everyone one is different and some people who do a lot of hard manual work, need some animal protein. I have been eating a lot of split pea soup and lentil soups lately and feel real balanced. Soup and salad is my basic dinner. This is a big topic, but here are a few ideas from me. Sat Nam, Rattana :+)
