Guest guest
Hello Kundalini Yoga List Members!!!!! My name is Christopher Eaves, and I also saw the program on TV that mentioned Kundalini Yoga (although I don't usually watch much TV). I have been interested in yoga lately anyway, and I have been meditating off and on for the past six months, more seriously in the past 3 weeks. After seeing the program, and finding the websites, I am very interested in practicing Kundalini Yoga. Hopefully, I will be able to find a class I can attend on the weekends, since I have a night job (in Houston). I was also wondering which books would be the best to read--is the beginner's book on the YogaTech website simply a "best of" the other bigger books? If so, I'm tempted to start with Transitions to a Heart Centered World. Comments greatly appreciated. Thanks, Christopher Eaves christeaves
Guest guest
Hi Goska, Check 'Rajyoga' by Swami Vivekananda. This book will give you all the details about it. Or you can find it in 'Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda'. Best of Luck, Unmesh ----Original Message Follows---- Goska Swiderska <gochas > Hello everybody, I'm very glad to hear from you. I'm born and live in Poland and my English is not very well - but I hope to improve it with your help. So far I did nothing with kundaliniyoga and have no experience. Though I admit I did something what you can call ragajoga. I' m not good at "names of techniques" - my experiences are rather intuitive. I'm looking the way for me - that will suit me best. For now I don' feel good in my skin. In Poland there is the middle of the night and most of the people went to bed. Perhaps somebody can tell me sth optimistic? Guest guest
Dear Christopher, There are some good KY classes in Houston. I hope you find one that fits your schedule. It is interesting that you say that you are meditating more seriously in the last 3 weeks. The energy of the Aug 11 solar eclipse is building and the desire to connect through meditation is one way that it is impacting us. I will be sending out an article about the Eclipse and how to use the energy in the next few days. In response to your question, the sets and meditations in my manual Introduction to Kundalini Yoga are 80% "the best" from the other 3 manuals. There is also information about KY that is not in the other manuals. This manual is smaller than the other 3 and while it contains a lot of information and sets, it is less daunting than the other manuals which each contain enough kriyas and meditations for years of practice. All four manuals are written to familiarize the beginner with the basics. My advise is to follow your intuition. Good time to practice following it. If it feels like Transitions to a Heart-Centered World is drawing you in, start with that. By the way, we are getting a lot of orders for that book recently. And you will be happy with any one of them. Sat Nam, Rattana > My name is Christopher Eaves, and I also saw the program on TV that > mentioned Kundalini Yoga (although I don't usually watch much TV). Guest guest
Dear Goska, Greetings, Thank you for introducing yourself. KY can help you feel good in your skin. :+) Just go to the KY site (see below) and under classes find the spinal yoga set and do it. Don't worry about doing it exactly right, just do something. The most wonderful thing about KY is that you feel so good after you do it, even while you are doing it. Early in the morning is the best. Even late at night, it is so quiet and you can get the full experience. Try it and let us know your experiences. Sat Nam, RAttana > I'm very glad to hear from you.
