I have been integrating "alternative" practices into my lifestyle for the past five years. Just recently, I have been paying more attention to the natural flow of things and practicing mental awareness. I live in southern Illinois(USA) about one hour south of St. Louis, outside a little town called Evansville. There is little opportunity to enter a community that encourages or practices a "whole" lifestyle. This Fall, I will be attending massage school, but it is very clinical as the school runs a massage program at the local hospital in Belleville, Illinois. Instruction on kundalini energy, chakras, and spirituality are, to me, noticeably lacking. I wish for massage to be just a platform for what I hope to be a lifelong career flow in healing. Yes, there is an obvious movement towards "alternative" methods, but even at 25(my age), I believe this is but evidence of our manifest spiritual destiny.
