Guest guest Posted September 2, 1999 Report Share Posted September 2, 1999 Hi there - my aplogies for the mishap of the attacment but I am not only new on the mail list but also on the internet & this really happened as a mistake,.I am Ingrid Theodoridis so one person!.I came across Kundalini energy at first in an astrology book on healing this was quite a while back. My wishes for joining this list and kundalini yoga on- line is because I am greatly hopeful of getting "myself" and my body back into balance. I have a busy day am greatful of this oppurtunity to learn Kundalini yoga at home ( for a start ).I am lucky that I have not been ill in any dramatic way but I have over the years been under stress and have gone through stages of emotional exhaustion. It seems so sad that in life we, due to stress cannot really enjoy life as it is. I am in the hope of being able to enjoy life to its full by "getting back into my body " as I found that a lot of the time I was fleeing , that is what it felt like , from the things I had to face. I hope to be able to change my life for the better by doing the yoga training. I did feel more quiet by doing the "excercises "and realise that in the stillness is the power. Feeling more peaceful I am able to see different aspects to one and the same situation. One thing I did read in that astrology book was that kundalini energy should not be misinterpreted as a sexual urge ( because of being in the lower chakras )it is rather a healing energy ? ingrid Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Nice to hear from you. The astrology book is in serious error. The Kundalini energy is absolutely sexual. It is also healing. It is also the power of the universe. All life is the result of sexual energy. All universal energy is manifested with the creative force within it. These are indivisible qualities and an attempt to divide them is a purely Western reflex, one often driven by a need to "sanitize" or rewrite the descriptions to please publishers, readers and others for whom the word "sex" or the term "sexual energy" are shocking, vulgar or scary. Since we are all results of sexual energy, power and activity, I think it best to embrace the concepts rather than hide from them or attempt to cloak them in some form of puritan over coat. It would be the same as saying that a male's penis is meant for the elimination of urine, in order to keep the kidneys and bladder healthy. True, but hardly the entire truth.
