Hi, I'm Ellen. I read your post with empathy, because I've found some

persons, okay, I admit, usually xians, to have very little tolerance toward

the beliefs of other persons. I started seeking God as a very small child,

and luckily my mother never discouraged me. She was agnostic, with few

practicing beliefs of any kind. At about 13 years of age I realized that

xianity was incredibly rigid and ritual based; I can't imagine that an

omnipotent, omniscient God requires that persons make certain statements and

practice certain rituals to be "saved".

I believe that good and evil are sides of the same coin, and that our

greatest quest in life is to choose--either to serve good or serve evil.

Sometimes our intentions to serve good don't even work out so well! How

about the scientists who created refriderants (CFCs). Do you think they

would have been so enthusiastic if they knew CFCs would destroy the ozone

layer? They thought they were providing mankind with a tremendous

improvement; but we don't even know how much damage will be done to the

protective layer of our atmosphere, only observe the results.

I think that those scientists would have carefully considered the

conscequences of their product if they had an inkling of the consequences,

maybe they would have looked for another route to refridgeration. However,

some persons are so locked into ritual speak and behavior that they have

lost sight of the fact that they must make choices--they cannot accept the

responsibility that making choices requires and therefore let their religion

make their choices for them. This person is not so much attacking you as

she is your belief that God is greater and more diverse than her limited

scope allows God to be--you are challenging her decision to "Let Go and Let

God." All you can do is tell her you love her (you love your church, the

fellowship which she also comprises, the concept of acceptance and even her

if she didn't try to hurt you), and you are sorry that she is in pain.

It is not your fault. Maybe you could remind her that God is huge, and he

has room in his universe and love in his heart for you as well. I would

refuse to argue with her or entertain her anger. You cannot help her, and

you deserve to be free to make your own choices. You might remind her that

free will is for everyone--you cannot make choices for other persons. You

cannot lead other persons astray--your beliefs are your own, just as the

beliefs of other persons are their own.

For those of you who are K, I'm sorry my discussion was not in that

framework. I don't know as much as I would like to about you, and am

listening to your discussion with great interest. I've already learned much

here, and look forward to learning more. Blessings, Ellen.

Dear Ellen and Everyone,

Ellen, thank you for you clear discussion of some of the underlying

spiritual issues. Although these discussions may not seem to be about KY,

they are about our empowerment and life on planet Earth. Any spiritual

practice and discipline brings up human issues. The ones we are discussing

here related to the 2ndChakra and boundaries and 3rd Chakra and indentity

and personal power. We could make a case for other chakras as well.

Onward on our journeys.

Sat Nam,

Rattana
