Guest guest
Dear Harry, Thank you for your introduction. I would suggest that you are not too old to do physical yoga and in fact that is what will help you the most at this point. You seem to have mastered many of the meditation techniques. There are many Kundalini yoga exercises that are very easy to do and give you profound effects. You will have out of the body experiences soon enough. Go for more in the body experiences. The body is the instrument of the soul. My name is Harry Appadoo and I would welcome being addressed as Harry. My introduction follows and i hope it is not found too long. I live in Mauritius. My E-Mail address is harryvr or hashpra ; I have started doing TM in 1976 when i was in London. I was then suffering from intense stress due to work-related problems and I had been to consult psychiatrists only to discover that that branch of medicine was failing miserably in its mission to alleviate the suffering of people in the throes of mental problems. I found TM to be a Godsend to me and in less than a year I could describe myself as a happy person again. My meditative experience deepened and about ten years later, I started having churning sensations at the muladhara which progressed to what I can describe as energy currents or tingling sensations throughout my body. Some years later ( I am now 64), I started having throbbing sensations in my head which seemed to me to be too much pressure from energy shift. I was very much afraid and tried to look for people to help me especially in India as Mauritius being a small place, one could not find yogis or other advanced souls who could help. I read about gopi Krishna, etc, but those days were very hard for adepts in my situation. I was afraid to go to bed at night due to the pressure in the head. I was able much later to bring down the pressure by not doing other advanced meditation practices. I was taught ( Sri Vidya ) and sticking to TM which again saved the day. I also did very frequent sessions of brisk walking for 45 minutes each time to give me the confidence that no inside pressure could damage a body used to frequent muscle exercise with rapid blood circulation throughout. Now the problem is over. Less than one year ago I started doing Kriya yoga taught by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. I am still doing TM. I work a lot for my age due to my meditation. I however would like to progress in kundalini yoga and also to get OBE, which I have not experienced yet. I have on some nights the experience of yoga nidra. I read Krishnamurthi a lot and i believe the goal of all yoga is to lead us to live totally in the present which is akin to being in timelessness, i.e to just be. It would be with great pleasure that i will read the reactions of friends on this List and to get their help to go further. Due to my age however, I will not be able to start hatha classes which I practised too long ago. Maybe, in my case, an association with an experienced practitioner of kundalini will be quite helpful. My greetings to you all and my best wishes for your continued growth. Your interest in helping others will not fail to strengthen your selflessness which is after all the goal of yoga. May this sharing spread benefits to all who are on that path. May God bless you all ! > > > [Attachments have been removed from this message] > > > "OUR DESTINY IS TO BE HAPPY" > - Yogi Bhajan > > Check out our website: > http://www.gtmark.com/ky/index.htm > > Sponsored by Yoga Technology Press > Popular publishers of books on Kundalini Yoga and Meditation. > > > To from this list, go to > ONElist Member Center, or send mail to > Kundaliniyoga- > No requests to the list please! >
