Unauthorised Subscriptions

Hi to All

 

We seem to have a problem at the moment. I have now received two reports of

members of this list being d elsewhere - to a list called

Ramakrishnavendanta - without their permission. It would appear that someone

d to Kundaliniyoga is harvesting addresses for this express

purpose. Such practice if frowned upon, not just by me as list owner, but by

ONElist themselves. If anyone else has been so d to the

Ramakrishnavendanta list, would they please mail me privately.

 

I am submitting a full report of this affair to ONElist. No doubt they will

soon get to the bottom of it, as they keep records of all such

subscriptions. I would warn the perpetrator to desist from such practices.

If their identity is discovered, then they face being banned, not only from

here, but from the entire ONElist system.

 

Rattana sent me the following, which I want to share with you all as an

eloquent and accurate comment on this unfortunate situation.

 

"The rules of Onelist are made to protect us from spamming and to afford us

the opportunity to communicate with others in a safe, unharassed

environment. The rules respect permission and choice. Whoever signed up

people without their permission is violating the very rules that we hope

will protect us. If "spiritual" groups violate these rules, then they

magnify the possibility of others doing so. My opinion is, if "spiritual"

groups don't act in integrity, who is going to? Acting in integrity is of

utmost important if we sincerely hope to help create a better world.

Personal integrity is the substance upon which our society can rise. The

lack of it is how it has and will continue fall. Even in seemingly

unimportant acts, we each make these choices, and our contribution to our

future, every day."

 

Rest assured that whenever the broader interests of this community are

threatened, I will take whatever action I deem necessary to defend them.
