Hi..I have a question. What is yogi tea? Can you post the recipe please. I too

absolutely adore my coffee. A morning worship in truth. And more. It is

incredibly satisfying, but if there is something else that will replace it and

still be good for me, I'm game. Also, have you ever considered the other things

in our diet that contain caffein? The last time I was pregnant, I stopped

coffee. Around my 7th month I went to the movies with my then husband. I had a

coke and a chocolate bar and got so wired up, I could not believe it. I had no

idea that they contained caffien, but hot chocolate, choc. bars etc. and coke

all do. So does regular tea for that matter, and it can have even more than

coffee. Depends how long it is steeped. Part of me wants to believe, and it is

my experience that calmness is a state of mind. Coffee'd up or not. Makes no

difference to my meditations. I have gone without for months and then

re-imbibed. The experience was pretty much the same. Sugar is the most addictive

substance in the world. Bar none. Even more so than heroin, morphine etc. The

consumption of sugar in the world has increased, thanks to the invention of dear

ol' coke. From a pound or two per person per annum at the end of the last

century to about 80 pounds (I think) now. Heart attacks were pretty much

unknown before that time. I use aspertame and have for 20 years. Love sweets. So

this is how I deal with it. I know this pushes buttons, but it is my choice. Did

you know that cigarettes are cured in sugar? That is the main reason that this

addiction is so hard to deal with and people almost automatically turn to candy

bars etc. when they quit. That should be banned or at least people should be

made aware of this double whammy. Did you know that since the warnings such as

"smoking kills" etc have been placed on packages, cancer increased by 30 %? The

subliminal message is more deadly than the fact it seems. The mind is very

powerful and what we buy into we will create. Including coffee fears....Syena.

Misty, Yogi Tea is in several of Yogi Bhajan's books and cookbooks. The cook

book that I normally use is somewhere........... but I found this receipe in

The Ancient Art of Self-Healing on page 126: start with 10 oz water per

cup and brew at least 4 cups at a time (I make up to 6-8 qts. and have the

amount all fiqured but I am not sure at this moment where that certian book

is) 3 cloves, 4 green cardamon pods (crushed), 4 peppercorns, 1/2 stick

cinnamon, 1 slice ginger root (fresh) and boil 10-15 min., then add 1/4

teaspoon of black tea (can be omitted it; it does have caffeine), after 2

min add 1/2 cup of milk per cup of liquid (or soy milk or goats milk). Heat

to boiling point, remove, strain, serve immediately with honey to taste. It

is really easy once you have your amounts figured out but do remember that

the more that you make the less you use of peppercorns and cloves because

it can make it too spicy. (I have steeped it longer because I do like a

stronger taste but this is what is recommended in the receipe). Sandy
