Guest guest Posted December 11, 1999 Report Share Posted December 11, 1999 This is just one thing that has been on my mind , now im 17 and im pretty sure that i found the path that i would like to follow in reaching a more enlightend , cutural,and spiritual life .......it is sorta of like a slash b/w the past hippy cutural beliefs and eastern philosophy . The only thing is i want to maintain a normal living life ....if u get what i mean . now im very open-minded ...but i tend to change my views sometimes . i change my views and the things i like because im trying to find out who i am as a person and what i truly like .but im just confused ....... [i'm actually still a hippy in the sense that I do my own thinking, am non-consumerist, non-corporatist-maybe that defines a hippy of the 90's/00's.] I used to go to demonstrations in Washington Sq Park. Unfortunately I never saw Jimi perform, but of course he influenced me. I did attend a Bob Dylan concert- a very early Bob Dylan at Rutgers U in NJ, must have been around '67. I remember thinking, what a terrible voice this guy has! ha! You are blessed to discover Kundalini Yoga at your age. I was 33. I'm also blessed to discover it at any age. I'm happy you know the history of those times (60's). sometimes it feels like it never happened and that today all people want to do is make their first million. The fact that you are conscious of this state is quite to your credit, especially at the age of 17! One basic element of our human journey is to find claity about who we are and why we are here. The cosmic joke is that we came in with a paper bag over our head. We have to punch holes in it to see, hear and perceive another reality. I think we are trying to remove the bag. Actually we don't think the bag is too funny. Those out of body laugh at us. When we start laughing at ourselves, that is one sign that we are less confused. Yes, you are so blessing to find KY at your age. Like Kartar Kaur I was 32 and even that was a total blessing. Blessings to you.
