Guest guest
Hi everybody, Sat Nam. I'm on my 2nd day of a 40-day commitment! I'm thankful for the support of people on this list and particularly Rattana. I do: spinal flex, 4-part breath, stretch pose. As Mao said a journey of 100 miles begins with a single step. This is my single step. I know I want to do a lot more, but at this time this is all I can manage and it feels so *good* to make this commitment to myself. And I want to make it to the list - I am going to do this yoga for 40 days every day. If any of you want to begin or stop some behavior it really does help to make a commitment to another person. My first day of yoga, yesterday, when I woke up I thought well today is the day I'm going to start. Then I thought well, it's raining and it's a Tuesday, maybe not a good day to start. Then I thought- I had said in an e-mail to Rattana that I would start that day. That was enough to get me up and get me started. So, anybody want to join me - in a 40-day commitment - or for a week commitment, whatever is good for you-let me know. Thanks everybody, Sat nam Kartar Kaur ~Odom is god~
Guest guest
Hi Ellen, Sat Nam. Go for your goal. How long do you practice? i.e. 20, 30 or 60 minutes? About two months ago, I made a commitment to myself to get up 45 minutes early each morning to practice Kundalini Yoga (I have the videos). Although my practice is not consistent, my alarm clock still goes off 45 minutes early. I would like to join you in making a commitment to practice every day starting 12/19 through 01/02/00. Guest guest
My goal is become a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and to someday own a health center in the state of PA. I noticed that there aren't many Kundalini certified teachers in the state of PA. Guest guest
Hi, Sal, Why don't you check out www.yogatech.com for some yoga exercises. Then you could pick one or two to do for 40 days. The one I am doing - 4-part breath is there. or check out other Kundalini yoga sites like www.3ho.org (com?) I don't have any to e-mail you. Of the 3 that I'm doing 2 have been described on this list. The 3rd, spinal flex,- There are different ways to do it, here's one way: sit in easy pose, legs crossed. hands on or near ankles. - holding them. Breathe in, think Sat, extend your belly to the front. Exhale, think "nam", curve your belly back toward your backbone. Do this a few minutes. Or check into yogatech for this too - maybe a better desrciption is there. Best, Kartar Kaur. The first one I did was the Guru Ram Das special healing meditation in Ky Training lesson #3 from Rattana. Rattana stated that this mantra produces healing, magic, and miracles. For me it produced a miracle. I did not think it was possible for me to do Kundalini Yoga without direct in person instruction as I received in 1980 when I lived in Boulder, Co. I basically quit for 20 years and practiced only hatha yoga. I became involved again when I got on-line six months ago. I was just curious with no plans on being able to succeed. After doing this mediation for 40 days, along with support from this group, I realized that I could do it! It is very hard to explain which is why I haven't posted this before. I feel you need to experience Kundalini Yoga, it is hard for me to describe. Thanks for posting your goals. It made me talk. Good Luck and keep us informed. (I also agree that it helps to tell someone about your goals. That is why I posted my Sadhana a couple of months ago) Sat Nam Brian
Guest guest
hi all.... i would like to try this 40 day commitment too.... i feel i have a few steps to take before i do so... (like clearing a space in my small room to do this everyday!!! ugh what a mess..haha) but also i have a question.... i have been wanting to create a sadhana (is that spelled right?) practice since i atarted to do KYoga in March..... but i work nights in a bust retail store.... i sometimes don't get home until midnight and am usually not tired after this.... waking up at 3am just doesn't seem to make sense if i get to sleep around 1 or 2am!! sooooo..... is it okay to sleep after sadhana? should i practice BEFORE i sleep? or should i just do it when i wake up in the morning.... (i know pre-dawn has benifits though....) any ideas and i will join you people.. hehe thanks... love this list (((((((hugs))))))) Akire
Guest guest
Hi Brian , You and I have this in common: I also did not think it was possible for me to do KunYoga unless I was living in or near the ashram as I did for 16 years in Hst Tx. I have been away from doing any yoga for 5 years. I really give you credit for returning to it after 20 years. I need magic and miracles so I am going to check out the Training lesson #3 that you mention. [it is already a miracle that I'm doing KunYoga every day.] Support is great. Sat nam.
