Guest guest
Sat Nam, I am so delighted that Kartar Kaur is not only starting her 40 day Sadhana, she is inspiring others to do so too. This is the most wonderful gift you can give yourself and others for Christmas and the New Year. Akire-- Regarding sleep and timing. It is fine to go to sleep after Sadhana. The optimal time to do it is 2 and 1/2 hours before sunrise. However, people do have different schedules and sleep is just as important as Sadhana. If you have to sleep during this time, do your practice after you get up. It is good to meditate before you go to bed but that is not Sadhana for the next day. If you meditate, it might be easier to get to sleep earlier and up earlier. My main advise is PROGRAM YOURSELF FOR SUCCESS! Start out with what you can commit to and succeed at. Success is more important than any idea of what is the best thing to do. If it is 10 minutes like Kartar Kaur, go for 10 minutes and feel good about yourself for doing 10 minutes a day. Build up to 15 minutes the next 40 days. No big rush if you are on the right track. Getting people to practice on their own is always a challenge. I told a class once, do 5 minutes a day and see what happens. The next week I was greeted by a very enthusiastic student. She wouldn't contain her excitement. "I did my 5 minutes a day and my life this week was great". Then she listed all the things she got done that she couldn't seem to get done before and how much happier she was. I was very impressed. I asked her what she did. "I set the timer on microwave for 5minutes, ran to my bedroom, tuned in, did spinal flexes and heart twists until the alarm went off." Wow. Even to the second and it worked. :+) Please share your stories with us. SAt Nam, RAttana
