Perhaps you can first of all explain to us your concept of God. (BTW, please do not shout (use capitals) - it is not considered good netiquette.) Sat Nam! Guest guest
Tat Tvam Asi (that thou art) You are God. How does it feel to know that you are of the same stuff as divine beings. Everything is one. Ganesha is part of everything. You are part of everything. Therefore, you are Ganesha. Tat Tvam Asi. In high school I began questioning the fundamentals and theory of my childhood religion. Without receiving answers to give me peace, I became more concerned, knowing intuitively that there had to be more to Spirit. That was over 30 years ago when my search for truth began. Christianity likes us to believe that the Father, the Pope, your priest, your minister, God, confession, and all the other symbols, will save me as I do little but have blind faith and believe that in the end, I will be saved. This belief makes God a separate entity in the universe, having divine control, and making all the decisions as s/he sees fit for me. This is taking an inactive back seat to faith that never felt right to me. >> You do not have to believe in God, as God in Judeo-Christian beliefs...however, it is the manner of man to search for something more than himself--all men (and woman). Faith is a proactive thing, not a "sit back and wait" thing. We ALL make our fates. We ALL have free will. God sees our lives in a continuum...from beginning to end...and all the myriad paths we may take in between. God is "other." (Kirkegaard) To attempt to know the mind of God is useless. As in Zen, we must meet ourselves here and now (much like God does in Christianity). Do not dwell too long on the past or the future...meet yourself where you are at this moment in time, know yourself, and accept yourself. Once this is accomplished, forward movement is possible. If you wish to find a way back to Christianity (I am a Christian and a Buddhist)...I would suggest you read "Mere Christianity," by C. S. Lewis. This is how I found my way back. I hope I am not overstepping any boundaries, by answering this post...I felt I should. Marsha
Guest guest
Dear Good People: >From 12-27-99, Do you have to believe in God to practice KY? Fast forwarding to August of ’99, is when I found 3HO on the Internet and my teacher, Jude, right here in Indianapolis. Since then, my concept of God has been revolutionary and a new and uplifting experience. My teacher taught her class, and was also instructed by her teacher, that for those with trouble believing in God to think of it in this way: G is for the generation of life and beginnings, O is for placing life in order, and D is to destroy past negative patterns, making us ready for the next generation all over again. Isn’t that the cycle with KY, generate new thoughts, place them in order, and destroy old outmoded ways? What I have come to realize is that my definition of God is me—as Spirit—so how could s/he ever have been separate from me? Not being a separate entity, we are all little holographic pieces of God, connected with the universe, generating new life, placing it in order and destroying the old to make way for new balance and centering. With KY, I take an active driver’s seat in my beliefs. Developing my intuition will help me see my future, and with new courage and strength, create the best outcome for my higher self. God is just a word, a symbol, that you interpret to have meaning for you. I believe that first we are Spirit, and next we are mortal human beings in God’s image, which in essence, is Spirit as well. Spirit is invisible and so must dwell in a vessel that can be seen. May the only attitude we have be one with Spirit. Many blessings to you all on this New Millennium’s Eve as I look forward to the best year ever in G.O.D., as practiced the kundalini way. Sharing joy and peace always, Nancy McGann in Spirit ((((((((((((((((Healthy Happy Holy Hugs))))))))))))))))
