Guest guest
I once had a teacher many years ago who would, after getting us to a nice meditative state, proceed to make the daily announcements. Things like," if you want to participate in this weekend's retreat don't forget to give your check for $150 to Joan before you leave." or " The pot luck dinner at so and so's was cancelled so be sure to tell any one you don't see here tonight not to go, blah blah blah" We were sitting there in lotus pose trying to meditate, or even in the middle of a bow pose when we're supposed to be concentrating on the breath. Needless to say this person was a teacher. Not a very good teacher. Definately not a spiritual master.Later on I was blessed to find a wonderful and beautiful soul who was the best teacher I ever had.He was still only a teacher. Try not to confuse the teacher with your spiritual master they are not always one in the same. I have not had the opportunity to study with yogi Bhajan, and right now I use the videos of Ravi Singh, he's great. But as far as a spiritual master goes, you should ask yourself while in deepest meditation, the answer is within you. I feel that every one of us has a master within. Kundalini Yoga is one way to awaken this master. And of course a good teacher makes the whole process easier.
