Guest guest
Sat Nam Gordon, Here are a few of my favorite books on Kundalini, meditation and about: "Kundalini Yoga: The Flow of Eternal Power" by Shakti Parwha Kaur Khalsa was the first book on KY I have read and it was - and is - a joy to read, re-read and practice. Detailed, easy to follow even for a total beginner, warm and full of humor. "Kundalini: Empowering the Human Evolution" by Gopi Krishna. Selected writings of one of the first people to talk publicly about Kundalini and their personal experiences with it. I found it very illuminating. "The Mind: Its Projections and Multiple Facets" by Yogi Bhajan. An extraordinary guide to your "best friend and worst enemy". Includes wonderful meditations sets for the harmonious development of all the aspects of the mind. "The Master's Touch" by Yogi Bhajan. Unfortunately Amazon.com does not carry this book ( you can find it at www.cherdikala.com ). A compilation of Yogi Bhajan's KY teacher training course lectures - challenging, uplifting, and powerful. Great not only for teachers but also for us students... if we can go through those exercises, that is : )! If you feel brave take up this book. If you don't feel brave... well, try! "Kundalini Yoga for the West" by Swami Sivananda Radha. Beautiful, richly detailed guide to the chakras also includes meditations to work with them. Stresses the psychological aspect and has many references to Sanskrit works. A bit of familiarity with Sanskrit terminology is helpful. "Kundalini" by Swami Muktananda. Small but precious and insighful book from the Siddha Yoga master. You'll fall into meditation before page 3! This is one of those books you have to "sip" rather than swallow. "The Success of the Soul" by Subagh Singh Khalsa. Short but lovely introduction to KY meditation, includes 2 audio tapes to help you along. "From the Finite to the Infinite" by Swami Muktananda. This is not KY nor Siddha Yoga: it is a wonderful book of answers to all the questions of all the seekers, whoever they are and whatever path they follow. In Q and A format, it actually comes from transcripts of lectures and discussions that Swami Muktananda held. "Play of Consciousness" by Swami Muktananda. Ground-breaking spiritual autobiography and a first hand account of the unfolding of Kundalini through meditation and divine grace. "Alan Watts Teaches Meditation". Audio book by one of the most respected Western meditation masters will take you step by step into the higher dimension. There are a great many other books I would love to share with you but I thought I would keep this list to manageable size and as on-topic as I could. I am looking forward to reading your book suggestions as well ! Blessings, Alina
