There are good books available as well as videos. I find nothing inspires me

as much as my teacher and find her invaluable. Sometimes it also helps to

have the energy of a class. Each of us must search for our own path.

Let me start by introducing myself, my name is Miguel, I am a 37 year old

male living in Peru. I am a computer systems project leader, working in a

leading insurance company in my country. I have lived a typical modern

life, married & divorced, worked, done a small amount of drugs in my youth,

etc. I have always felt a spiritual need, not knowing what to look for. A

small episode of catholic religion did not help. Since then I have lived

materially and not spiritually, trying to find out things about myself in a

random manner. I don't have much time (work long hours) or money (deeply in

debt).

I recently came into contact with Yoga through my cousin. She is learning

Raja Yoga and she took me to a Brahma Kumaris lecture, also a small

meditation exercise. I immediately felt as if I had found a path to fulfil

my spiritual need. I did some Internet research but am at a loss as how to

start. Please can you help me by giving me some guidance?

For instance, should I learn meditation first or read books and seek

theoretical knowledge? Can this path be started by oneself or do I need to

study with a teacher? Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Miguel

Hi all, I'm Patti. I live in South Florida. Have been in the process of a

divorce for over 1 year and with that have been searching for ways to

reconnect with Spirit. Have recently begun meditation and KY. The

meditation efforts have produced little result so far. It is so very hard to

still the thoughts that race across my mind. I'd appreciate any advice

toward progress. I don't even really "see" anything as I try to concentrate

on the 3rd Eye. Thanks in advance.

patti,

what a beautiful road to self discovery you are on. i too started

meditation two years ago, and recently started KY. the changes are so sutle

that at first you do not notice. one day you realize you view things

differently. the best gift you can give yourself is time with yourself. bless

all the thoughts as they come into your head and remind yourself to

concentrate on your breath or mantra. meditation is nothing more than going

within and listening to the silence. with this silence comes clarity. when i

first started i wasnt sure how to stop all the "noise" in my head, so i tried

a focal point. it is amazing that after awhile when you find yourself staring

off in to space you fall into that medatative state with ease. try different

ways to focus. sometimes white noise works like running water, static, or a

fan. find what makes you relax. good luck to you patti. remember to listen to

your inner guidance always. it is there to help guide you through your life.

it has always and will always be there for you. its the voice in your head

and the feeling in your "gut" that will never mis guide you. many blessings.

sat nam,

chrissi

Dear Miguel....follow your intuition.......practise makes perfect.Start by

sensing your thoughts from a disstance, and not paying attention, letting it

rumble on.Try to learn from practise, reading too much books isn't

good......it gives you knowledge, but not practise.

There is one thing I can recommend... keep meditating. This is not about

getting results overnight, not that it wouldn't be nice : ) . But there is

many years' worth of trauma and confusion and feeling lost that has to be

cleared up through meditation. Have faith. It will happen, but gradually...

Yes it is hard to still one's mind. I did some Zen meditation before

starting KY, and uh, it wasn't easy. I find KY meditation much easier to get

into because you have a big help: repeating the mantra you choose. You don't

have to "blank out" your mind - but just keep repeating the mantra. If any

thoughts come and do their best to get you out of your meditation, do your

best in turn by repeating the mantra in spite of that and don't pay

attention to them. And just keep doing it.

I guess most of us don't see anything special when looking up inside at the

third eye! We have to awaken it first, and that takes time and practice.

Have faith in yourself and know that you can do it.

Sat Nam,

Alina

(PS: Thank you Scott for the Sat Kriya tip! I appreciate it)

Hello,

In regards to Patti's question about not seeing things in the third eye

area.

This reply comes merely from information, something that I have tried not to

do, but in this case, I am still waiting.

Colors and visions coming to the third eye is good. Being able to focus and

concentrate upon them is even better. Up to this point I have been able to

do. But, . . .

Upon realization, or signs of it, is the complete absence of any visual or

audial stimulation. You are completely enmeshed with all things and

therefore notice nothing. Sight, sound, touch, smell, everything is wrapped

up in the complete absorbtion of the Self. I amd still waiting.

I hope that made sense.

Smile, Breath and Be,

Adam Hoyt

Sat Nam! Peace to All, Light to All, Love to All

I'm not sure what is meant by "post a brief introduction" so I hope

this is enough for now.

Sincerely,

Sadhana Kaur
