Guest guest
Thank you Gordon and Gururattan for the great new page! I have a question about Siddhasana and Padmasana. This page mentions that in Siddhasana the left heel is placed on top, and in Padmasana the right leg should always be on top. In my yoga classes we learned them the other way around - right heel on top in Siddhasana and left leg on top in lotus pose (ie, first place right foot on left thigh). It was a hatha yoga class - are these poses done the other way around in KY? A friend of mine who did KY does Siddhasana with right heel on top too. Guest guest
Dear Alina, My gut feeling is that one should alternate to balance the pelvis or do what is the most comfortable. I am personally not too much into rigidity at this point in my life. Some people get enlightened by sitting in a tree or standing on one leg. Heh, there are a lot more poses than the official ones. Sat Nam, Gururattan Kaur :+) > Thank you Gordon and Gururattan for the great new page! I have a question > about Siddhasana and Padmasana. Guest guest
Dear Gururattan Kaur, Thank you for clearing up that point! I got confused because some teachers insist on doing the asanas in just one way and I wasn't sure which is the right way. I would have two somewhat related questions. One is about sadhana. Because I have a weird schedule (like most software tech people, I guess!) I sometimes cannot do all things at the right time, to fit exercise, meditation and chanting all in early morning. I am always trying to catch up in the evening or at night, but I was wondering in this case, is there a better way to do things? What should be done when? Or perhaps it is not so important for as long as you do them? The other question is about an effect I have been getting from meditation. I have been experiencing recently frequent flashes up my spine, but they don't start at the base of the spine, but right in the center and go both up and down from there for something like a second at a time. Initially I would get them only during meditation but now they can happen at any time. Is this okay and is there anything I should or should not do? Thank you and Sat Nam, Alina > "Rattana Khalsa" <rattanak > > Dear Alina, > > My gut feeling is that one should alternate to balance the pelvis or do what > is the most comfortable.
