Guest guest
Hi to All It has just been brought to my attention that during a recent upgrade, ONElist installed what they called a "family filter" for each r's account. The purpose of this is to filter out any newsgroup listed in the records as being suitable only for adults - this covers a lot more subjects than just porn - many of the more serious groups have themselves listed this way in the ONElist index. Many of us have complained to ONElist - not because of the provision of the filter, but because it has been installed in every account set "ON" - ONElist have taken it upon themselves to censor the material you can receive from their system, and they have NOT TOLD ANYONE ABOUT IT! To remove this unwarranted intrusion into your freedom of choice, go to the ONElist membership center - / Assuming that you are recognized by the computer, you will see not far from the top of the page a tab headed "Join a Group". Just below this you will see the words "Family Filter On" with a link. Click here and you will be taken to another settings page. At the top is a box which will be ticked, with the caption "family filter is on" - untick this box and your freedom to browse without restriction will be restored. If you wish to complain about this - I suggest that you go to the ONElist Web Site and click on the tab for r feedback. Regards & Sat Nam!
