Guest guest
Hi Karen and everyone, You asked about the problem of the foot falling asleep in cross legged asanas. This happens to my left foot too all the time in sadhana and meditations more than 11 minutes. One thing I noticed was that in the White Tantra Yoga day a few weeks ago in Florida, this happened about 3 minutes into every meditation (and some of them were for 62 minutes). Out of desperation, I folded the pillow I was sitting on (it was a regular pillow you put your head on). It seemed to lift me up and not pinch the nerve or stop the circulation and I found I could even sit an hour with it not getting numb. I just thought I'd mention it, though ideally it would be nice to not have to have a pillow underneath. After about 20 minutes, the foot underneath invariably does this and, needless to say, this is quite distracting. Debbie, Do you have any comments about your White Tantric Day? Were the meditations very hard? Had you done this before? John
Guest guest
Hi All - Thank you for the replies thus far. I have considered using a pillow, and even a meditation bench (which is great for alleviating the discomfort experienced doing rock pose for Sat Kriya). However, my instincts also tell me it's better to go without these things. As far as purification of nadi's, I'm curious to know what sending an e-mail to the address referenced in Petru's response would get me. The site is not in English... /Karen ___________ NetZero - Defenders of the Free World Click here for FREE Internet Access and Email http://www.netzero.net/download/index.html

Guest guest
Sat Nam, When we sit on a cusion, it is possible to put the weight of the feet on the outside of the feet instead of the ankles. This helps protect the ankles. Cushions and benches are not cheating, they are smart. Sat Nam, Gururattan Kaur
