Guest guest
<If you believe the sheep loves to have his skin used for meditation, then that is the truth.> I feel there is a significant distinction to be made between truth and belief. Hence I feel compelled to respectfully reply to Stardust, "If you believe the sheep loves to have his skin used for meditation, then that is the truth." Maybe that is one person's "truth" but it is not likely to be the sheep's truth. People are capable of believing all sorts of unlikely things, like, "Our slaves are very happy here" or, "Homeless people enjoy living outside" if it suits our advantage. Hitler believed all the Jews should be killed. Not exactly the "truth" of the Jewish population. We can easily be deluded by our own desires/fears. This does not excuse us from a responsibility to our fellow beings. That said, non-violence is relative not absolute. We can not boil water for tea without killing thousands of living beings. We do the best we can. Better we live as consciously and compassionately as possible than believe in our own delusions. another Pisces, Peggy Sue
