Guest guest
Hi, I have been practising yoga on and off for several months, and now am coming to think that I would like to practice regularly, only there is a rather embaressing problem holding me back. It is that in my periods "on" I find that my belly comes extremely bloated and I have chronic gas. I was wondering if perhaps anyone had any advice, positions, diet modifications etc. I will be seeing a doctor about the problem shortly as it is holding me back from daily practice. Guest guest
I am a hath yoga teacher practicing Yoga Asanas , Pranayamas etc. for last over 24 Years. You please try Paschimottan Asana followed by Kona Asana for the problem of the belly . For an immediate relief from Gas problems , try Pawan Mukta Asana. The postures & method of performing all these asanas you can find from some of the Yoga Asanas Book available easily. I am sure that simply by Yoga Asanas you can get rid of these problems & need not approach any alopath at all. May God bless you with good health. Please let me know of any more help. Guest guest
Hi! I have digestion problems too. I've found any exercise that strengthens the abdomen section helpful. Particularly Urdhva Prasarita Padasana. It's where you lay down flat, You inhale and raise both your legs until you are in a 'L' shape. Lower your legs slowly while you exhale. Make sure your spine stays flat and doesn't arch when lifting the legs. Keep repeating the exercise for as long as you can or wish. It is important to change your diet as well. You may have food allergies, or perhaps your pancreas doesn't produce enough enzymes to break the food down properly. Find a good doctor who will run these tests for you. Hopefully the average doctor in Australia (I'm assuming that's what the "au" stands for in your addy.) are better than the ones in the US. I was misdiagnosed for years as having "irritable bowel syndrome". When, in fact, all along I was allergic to gluten. Currently I'm avoiding gluten and rice for a period of time. My acupuncturist is helping with my treatment. I should be able to eat and digest my "bad" foods in 6 months. Best of luck to you, Angie
