Guest guest
Thank-you Peggy Sue for expressing just what I was thinking!!! I agree that we humans can rationalize anything to suit our emotions and or needs. By saying that just because we "believe" a sheep didn't suffer so we could enjoy their skins, is I feel, using new-age rhetoric to suit your wants/desires. I do believe we create out own reality and it MAY be true that this belief can minimize our karma. But I personally on't think so. I think people are continuously experiencing the results of their actions whether they are conscious of it or not. I know one Master who says that our natural disasters are actually the results of a lot of deeds that create bad karma (ex. not loving others, negativity, anger, killing of animals, etc.). Yet, in those places where these disasters happen, how many people believe this? Not many, yet they still suffer enormously from the results of their collective karma even if they have no inkling how it developed in the first place. I can't imagine someone who has no spiritual beliefs and who lives most of his or her life in the ego and is out for himself won't feel the results of his living. I don't think it works like that. Karma helps us see the error of our ways... which is especially important for those who don't believe in the first place! Back to the truth vs. reality point: your personal truth may have an effect on your life, but to the (poor) sheep that was slaughtered, I KNOW it doesn't make a difference.
