Guest guest
Hi all, does anyone have any tips on how to deal with nasal congestion? I find that every winter my passages block up. It's not infection and I don't think it's an over abundance of mucous either because blowing my nose doesn't help and not that much comes out. It generally blocks up when I'm in a reclining position or when my head is inverted. Needless to say this is terribly frustrating while practicing asanas. It makes the headstand almost impossible to do without breathing forcibly, and at times I have to resort to breathing through my mouth. thanks. :-)PLUR(-:
Guest guest
The neti pot has helped my sinus problems. I use it both morning and night. sf
Guest guest
Dear Plur, Years ago I came home from college and noticed that all the sinus sniffing containers my mother used to use were gone. I asked her what happened. She said she had discovered alternate nostril breathing. She did it 2 times a day for two weeks and voila, gone. Another friend had the same problem and in one week it was cured. This is explained at the the Gemini newsletter and I am sure I have explained it before. Let us know your results. Guest guest
Hi Yogi with Sinus Problem Cleansing activities like Sutra Neti followed by Jal Neti are extremely useful in eradicating the Sinus problems from roots . In sutra Neti process , a specially constructed Coton thread Neti is boiled & sterilised & then inserted into one nostril & taken out of the mouth & the process is repeated from other nostril as well. While in Jal Neti , Jal ( Means Water ) with luke warm temperature with a teaspoon full of salt mixed thoroughly is passed from one nostril & allowed to drain from the other nostril under Gravity. During this entire process the breathing must be from the fully open mouth. THe process to be repeated from the other nostril as well. Actual process details can be found in any Yoga Asanas Books easily available. May God Bless you with best health & you be free from this trouble.
