Guest guest
Merry Meet Aurora Silvermane Yes! just wait until the Kaphas take over the fashion industry! (not likely). I do know what you mean about accepting our own body type. I too am an artist and teach drawing classes. Although I agree, from a drawing perspective a 300 lb woman can be quite beautiful, I would wager that she isn't doing many forward bending poses. That is where excess girth gets in the way. As you are slim, just imagine duct taping 20 lbs of butter (or water balloons filled with jello) to your belly and then trying a tuck pose. I think it is hard for some slim yoga teachers to understand that a seemingly simple thing like, "drawing the knees into the chest" can feel like a suffocating squish for the more voluptuous among us. Even the breath-o-fire Boat pose is easier than that (and said to burn fat right off the body!) I really like my "Fat Free Yoga" video with Ravi Singh. I have only been working with it for a week now but feel stronger, more flexible and.. maybe even a little slimmer already. We Kaphas sometimes need to activate that fire element.
