Guest guest
I have a question reagarding a certain type of healing....I would like to find out if there is actually a name for it and if anyone nows of any way to study and become better at it. Ok...I have the ability to touch someone that is in pain (where the pain is and I have to touch the spot for 15 or 20 minutes) and take the pain away, unfortunately, I have to actually take on that persons pain, although it is never as severe as their pain and it does eventually go away. I have only done this to people that are close to me and I have no idea if I could ever do it to some one I didn't know. Thank you very much for any information that you can give me, Klassy
Guest guest
According to my friend whose brother has this same ability, it is called an impath. The ability to take on and disperse someone's illness. I'm sure there are many names for it but this is the one I know it by. It is truly a gift. I don't know of anywhere you can study this, perhaps someone else on the list can help you there. It is an amazing gift, and the only way I can think of to develop it is to use it as often as is comfortable for you. sat nam, sui
Guest guest
Dear Klassy, There is an excellent book by Waheguru S. Khalsa, D.C., called 'The Miracle of Healing Hands'. It uses techniques taught by Yogi Bhajan. I am sure you would find it very illuminating. Guest guest
Klassy ))) The technique is called Healing Touch or Therapeutic Touch. It was first documented by Dolores Kreiger. It is so popular now that it is being taught in nursing schools as a way for nurses to help their patients. ( I wonder, though, how many use it for I have never seen one actually do it). As Suki put, it is part of being an empath. True empaths can take on the emotions of others by being in the same room. When I first started learning healing techniques, the ability to transfer over people's pain to myself became a severe stumbling block. After awhile, I didn't know where their pain ended and mine began. Now, I will most likely open a Pandora's box here with this next sentence. Empaths, such as you seem to be, need to understand boundary making. It is good to feel other's pain to a certain degree so you can effectively go right to the source and take it away. However, you don't need to be carrying it for a time.....it is too detrimental to our systems. Why you do this is simple. We heal from the heart chakra. There are meridians that run from our hearts down our arms, flowing into our hands. Those chakras in our palms transfer healing energy and also take the pain away. As the heart chakra is all about unconditional love, it makes sense that we wish to ease other's pain. By putting up a filter over this chakra with the intent that our 'gift' can stil be utilised, it allows the pain to flow out the body, using the chakra energies down the spine to either exit out our heads or our feet. Try using that as a meditation...and you will find a lessening of the taking on but not a lessening of your healing ability. I would also urge you in your healing to always state at the beginning of your laying on of hands...."For the highest good of this person, let the pain go away". Illness or pain has it's reasons. It is not good to take away pain that one person has to learn from...circumvents the lesson, so to speak. We can never get in the way of another's free will. Above all, know you have, indeed, been blessed with a gift. If you have any more questions or want me to expand on what I have written, please don't hesitate to contact me off-list. I don't know if Gordon considers this to be a strictly Kyoga question ) Brightest blessings, Susan K wrote: > I have a question reagarding a certain type of healing....I would like to find out if there is actually a name for it and if anyone nows of any way to study and become better at it. > > Ok...I have the ability to touch someone that is in pain (where the pain is and I have to touch the spot for 15 or 20 minutes) and take the pain away, unfortunately, I have to actually take on that persons pain, although it is never as severe as their pain and it does eventually go away. Guest guest
Hi Krissy, I read your post and alot of different authors came to mind, people with schools and then i thought...no....you are clear in what your gift is,at this stage I think it would be good to turn your attention inward and ask for guidance and then allow yourself to follow the paths that it leads to... God has given you this gift,If you have a strong connection and communication with God,he will help and guide you... This has been an area of interest of mine,But to go into this in depth on this list may not be appropriate, write to me off list if you like... lots of love natalie Prabhunam Kaur >"K" <cromwell >Kundaliniyoga ><Kundaliniyoga > > Healing Touch >Sun, 4 Jun 2000 20:29:21 -0700 > >I have a question reagarding a certain type of healing....I would like to >find out if there is actually a name for it and if anyone nows of any way >to study and become better at it. > >Ok...I have the ability to touch someone that is in pain (where the pain is >and I have to touch the spot for 15 or 20 minutes) and take the pain away, >unfortunately, I have to actually take on that persons pain, although it is >never as severe as their pain and it does eventually go away.
