Guest guest
Dear Mark Long Deep Breathing is good for developing patience (and calming nerves) and would be very effective if done for 31 minutes twice a day for the next 2 weeks. It would go a long way towards opening your throat chakra and allowing your truth to come out of your mouth especially if combined with vibrating "SAT NAM" mentally. Long Sat on the inhale and long Nam on the exhale. If done for 40 days it will undo all the negative images you have of yourself and pave the way for the positive ones to remain fixed in your psyche. Any meditations to open the throat chakra will also work wonders on the quality and the sound of your voice. It is often not in the words but in the tone...Tone carries conviction and passion and belief. It helps if you really believe in your topic and can speak from the heart. The truth, uttered from the throat, but coming from the heart, carries with it the beauty of love and compassion. So you can end your meditation (the long deep breathing) with chanting long sat nams for 11 to 31 minutes. (Long SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT to a short NAM: sat is 31 times as long as nam). You will begin to detect notes and tones in your voice that you've never heard before. Another tip: in order to carry conviction through any obstacles (even self imposed ones) to your hearers, your voice must come from the navel. Thus the energy is combined with the fire of your being (the element of the navel chakra is fire, used to burn through obstacles in your path and also to connect with the Divine Mother through the umbilicus). To set this navel energy and allow yourself to access it, do stretch pose for at least 1 minute a day. Stretch pose: lie on your back, raise head, hands and feet 6 inches off the ground, look at your toenails and begin breath of fire. If you have lower back problems put your hands under your hips to allow your lower back to sink down to the ground. This is best done in bed before you get up, first thing on opening your eyes after thanking the Universe for yet another glorious day. KY is SO useful sometimes...
