Guest guest
Hello Rikki and all, I am interested in that posting about God-realized@ and Ganga Kormaker. I would like to consult with these folks and anybody else with suggestions about my method for escaping, which seems to be anger. One of the most useful ideas I've run across is the Enneagram, in which I saw the best summary of my personality -- a "reforner" i.e. a "1". The description is pretty complete. So, I'm interested in what healers and experiencers from kundalini, acupuncture, or any other modality might think for working on this anger and reducing my reliance on it, or helping to become more accepting of it so perhaps it would be less dangerous. Currently I'm doing the "Brosa" meditation from "Kundalini Yoga: Exercise & Meditation Manual" in the evening and the "Kriya for Tolerance" in the morning followed (today) by the Leo I AM meditation. I feel pretty darned healthy and notice my anger a little sooner so that I can protect people from it; however, if I'm stressed, that is the way I deal. I also have been working with a Jungian therapist for about a year. Sat Nam! But I do get a great deal of energy from yoga and I think Kundalini Yoga is especially good for people who are heavy & need energy. I use Ravi Singh's video "Fat Free Yoga" as my morning yoga. I highly recommend it. You can find it at: http://www.ziplink.net/~ravi/index.html It can be hard to do some yoga poses when you are carrying extra weight. I have adapted some poses for my own body. For example, When the yoga teacher says "wrap your arms around your knees".... I hold on behind my knees. In some cases with forward bending poses I do the pose with my legs a little apart. When they say, "lay on your back and look at your toes? hmmmmmmmm, yeah well, we may need to see them with our third eye as we would LIKE to see them. I also find that for many poses done in "easy pose" sitting cross-legged, it is helpful to sit on a cushion or support. There is no kundalini you teacher where I live but I have a teacher who teaches a "Gentle" yoga class. I take that class and she gives me advice about how to adapt poses which is very helpful. But for me, I find kundalini most energizing and it gives me more results. (You probably would not enjoy a class where they do a lot of sun salutes). If you can find a Kundalini class ask the teacher how to adapt otherwise I recommend finding a gentle class. This will give you a basis in the postures that you can bring to your kundalini practice. Another thing that I think is wonderful about kundalini yoga when it comes to weight loss is the mantra "Sat Nam" meaning, 'Truth is my identity'. We are not measuring or comparing ourselves to some ideal outside of ourselves like so many weight loss programs would have us do. We are discovering our truest self, healthy & balanced. I hope this is helpful. Please feel free to write to me off-line on this subject if you care to. many blessings, Peggy Sue ______________________ ______________________ Message: 3 Tue, 29 Aug 2000 18:21:04 +0100 "gordon" <gordon Fw: 3HO looking for Copy Writer <3HOnews > Sat Nam. I ask because my first two years in college i was an anorexic and i always thought it was these actions that led me to develope the disease. I know for sure the control factor played an immense role in it developing. So i guess what i am asking do we, and if we do , how do we use food to control our lives and hide us from ourselves? IN FACT WE COULD BALANCE THE YING AND YANG THRU 5 ELEMENT ACUPUNTURE AND WORKING WITH THE MERIDIANS. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT IF THIS IS A PROBLEM YOU SEEK TREATMENT FOR NOT ONLY IS THIS METHOD SUCCESSFUL IT CAN HEAL EVERY ALIMENT THRU THE ENERGYS. DO NOT GO TO JUST ANYONE, SEEK OUT ONLY 5 ELEMENT NOT JUST 8 POINT FOR THE BODY IS A COMPLEX THING THAT NEEDS FINE TUNING THRU MANY MODALITIES. KUNDALINI YOGA AND ACUNCTURE IS THE BEST THING THAT I HAVE EVER DONE FOR MYSELF IN THIS LIFETIME AND I SUGGEST THAT YOU TRY THE TREATMENTS AS WELL. Rikki, I have the same problem and decided not only to do yoga but also to do some inner work. Especially when overeating has got to do with your past it becomes a symptom and medication in the same time. Since especially people with traumas etc relating to the past are caught in a web of past thoughts they have the tendency to focus on the outside world and forget the inside where the ego rules and terrorizes. Personally I find a lot of help from Ganga Karmokar, she's got a group here too. It's called God-Realized (AT) eGroups (DOT) What I like about her is that you can write to her personally and she answers you too. Hope your doing well. May everyones day be full of blessings. Do this for at least 40 days or more (until it stops hurting). Also very useful for me has been the second of a pair of sets from Chapter 9 of Kundalini Yoga for Strength, Success and Spirit. Other kriyas/meditations to consider would be "To relieve Inner Anger" from Owner's Manual for the Human Body", or from "Transitions to a Heart-Centered World", the sets in the "Negativity and Tension" section, and meditations in the "Positive and Neutral Mind" section. Guest guest
Sat Nam Michael~~~>>> If I'm working with anger, using a piece of rose quartz crystal as a tool for focusing on self love helps me very well. Usually i soak the stone in water with sea salt for at least 24 hours(to get rid of other stuff that it might have collected from someone else's nuisance), and then run water over the quartz visualizing the impruities leaving, and power from Mother Earth entering through the water. The Rose quartz is now ready to(as i would do-modify if you need)hold in your left hand while you medtate. Is there a Kriya for Love? Anger is rough to deal with, from my point of view. Respectfully/Charles O!
