I see no reason one couldn't study any number of paths - however, I do think there are distinct advantages to focusing on a single one (which certainly doesn't mean you can't study others at the same time). Some people find "cross-pollination" benefits to studying several paths, some find it confusing, particularly if the paths have conflicting advice about your practice.
