Guest guest
Hi All, I have a question for anyone who would like to answer. I started my 40 day morning sadhanna on the new moon (8/29) and I'm still going strong. I've been getting up every morning between the hours of 4:00-4:30 a.m. But there was one morning I just couldn't get up, and I didn't practice at all that day (8/31). What happens when you break the link? Do you start all over again or do you go an extra day to make-up for the one day you missed? Sat Nam Sheila B. Guest guest
Sat Nam Sheila: Sorry about this, but for it to count as a 40-day set, you have to start over This might make you feel better: when I was at the Master's Touch last year, the community in Espanola was celebrating for somebody who had finished a 1,000 day set (40 days gives you the full experience of a kriya - to master a kriya takes 1,000 days). She got a full year into her 1,000 days and got very sick, and couldn't do anything for a few days, and had to start over. It is particularly common for the body/mind to try to break the link just at the end of the 40 days, by getting sick (or whatever). I've been doing 40-dy sets pretty much continuously for the past few years, and nearly every time, somewhere around the 36-39th day, something will happen - I'll overdo something physical (I'm too sore to get up), or start feeling like I'm getting a cold (I'm sick, I need a day off), or just want to sleep in (I don't want to leave this cozy warm bed)... something. What really helps is to make such a habit of the morning routine that you're actually in the cold shower before you even start to wake up and think of excuses. Once the cold water hits you, it's all over. There's no going back to bed, so you might as well do some yoga Congratulations on all your hard work! That counts no matter what. Love & blessings, Sadhant
Guest guest
Thank you Sadhant for your response and sharing that story. Now I do feel too bad breaking the link after only two days of practice. May all love surround you Sat Nam Sheila B. > ---------- > Sadhant Singh > Tuesday, September 19, 2000 10:14 AM > Kundaliniyoga > Re: 40 Day Morning Sadhanna > > > > > > Sat Nam Sheila: > > Sorry about this, but for it to count as a 40-day set, you have to > start over > > >
