Guest guest
I'm asking for your help. I hate my job. I've worked in the same place for 11 years. The past few were pleasant though. Management respected my work. I took pride in what I did. Now, rules have changed. Bosses have changed. And what I was in charge of was given to someone else. !!! Even though they acted like I was doing a good job??? I carry so much anger. I now get back pains. I get that negative energy vibe (I don't know how else to explain it) in my arms. I want to quit so bad!:'( And my yoga practice in the morning doesn't seem to help. What do you suggest I do? I was considering the "ong" meditation. Finding a new job sounds like the most logical thing to do. Although I take a week off every month to see my fiance, (he can't live nearby at present). I don't know any other employer who would let me do that. What yoga set would be best? What about mantra? I also take massage classes after work. It is important that I get rid of that negativity before class. What can I do? I thank you for any suggestions. Guest guest
Dear Angie: It isn't the time you put into work, but the quality you feel you're getting back whenthere. I, too worked at a place where I couldn't take it any longer after 3 years. They were all into playing their own games. When I finally figured out that I couldn't play by their rules, I got out. It was very liberating for me to break free. I was very miserable by staying. I've been gone from that place 6 years now. Most people there were very negative. No one liked working there. The negativity had a way of corroding good and kind spirits. One woman felt she was trapped there forever because she had over 14 years in. She felt trapped because she wanted her retirement and so she couldn't leave. She became bitter and angry at everyone so much so that no one in the other departments would hire her because of her attitude. So she had indeed trapped herself. I feel that perhaps your anger comes from yourself: you're angry at being there, and angry at yourself for not getting out. Only a couple days ago someone in the list wrote, 'do whatever your head tells you NOT to.' I know from kundallini yoga this shouts EGO loud and clear. Give yourself some quiet time and listen to what your inner self tells you when you are not angry, like on a weekend. Hey, take a mental health day off, go to the woods, sit down under a large shade tree and meditate on it. You will get your answer by listening to your intuition. Nancy Lou : ) > I hate my job. Guest guest
Sat Nam Angie, I know you are in a difficult situation. But here is one point: the situation is just that (a situation and nothing more) and you are stronger than that. Remember "Sat Nam"? You are not a victim, and nobody can make you that. You are the Truth. And there is a saying that if you cannot find peace where you are, where do you expect to find it? As you go about your day, don't think about your anger. Whenever you feel angry, just repeat your chosen mantra quietly. Anger is there to steal your peace. Don't let it do that. And while repeating the mantra, give your job the best you can. Your new management will come to respect you and your work just as the previous team did. Don't doubt that for a second. Just be the responsible, dependable, and joyful person they will cannot help but admire. Long deep left nostril breathing and alternate breathing should also help. My blessings to you. Guest guest
Angie, The only thing to do is find a new job, hard to leave this one but you are stressed out over it, better to find a new one. It's hard to do this but it won't get any better and maybe you'll be much happier after you have "let go" and "moved on". It's scary but that is what I would do. Let it go! Guest guest
Sat Nam, There is a great set for dealing with anger in my manual Relax and Renew on page 56 for those who have the book. When we can see clearly we will know what to do. Sat Nam, Gururattan Kaur
