Guest guest
Hi! Am reading Brain Longevity by Dharma Singh Khalsa, M.D. He recommends supplements like Gingko Biloba, etc. Where do you purchase quality supplements? How do you determine the quality of supplements? Thanks. - Sadhant Singh <kundaliniyoga <Kundaliniyoga > Friday, September 15, 2000 4:55 PM Re: Breath Of Fire > > Sat Nam Johnny: > > Please go to kundalini yogapranayam.html for a > complete description of breath of fire. > > The web site has complete descriptions of all the basic techniques > of KY. > > Blessings, > Sadhant > > > "OUR DESTINY IS TO BE HAPPY" > - Yogi Bhajan > > You can UNSUBSCRIBE from this list at the ONElist Member Center (My ONElist), or send mail to > Kundaliniyoga- > NO UNSUBSCRIBE REQUESTS TO THE LIST PLEASE! > WEB SITE: kundalini yoga > > KUNDALINI YOGA ON-LINE TRAINING. Guest guest
Sat Nam Jerry: When it comes to simple herbs like Gingko Biloba, I think the only things to worry about are freshness and fillers. Some retailers don't have a high turnover of some items, so check the packaging label to ensure that you are getting something fresh, and to find things that don't have fillers. Often the organically produced and vegetarian specifications can lead you to better quality items. Some herbs, like ginseng or echinacea, can come from different plants. From what I've read, it appears that American ginseng is more desirable than Siberian ginseng, whereas the 3 common forms of echinacea seem roughly equivalent. When it comes to items that require processing or manufacturing, such as DHEA, I think you have to be very cautious about the production facilities and quality control (and of course freshness). Some companies have very high standards, meeting or exceeding the clean- room conditions required for pharmaceutical manufacturing, and I think one should want no less. At the moment, adhering to such standard is voluntary, so you'll probably want to look into the same things the FDA recommends in their new framework for dietary supplements: Look for ingredients in products with the U.S.P. notation, which indicates the manufacturer followed standards established by the U.S. Pharmacopoeia. Consider the name of the manufacturer or distributor. Supplements made by a nationally known food and drug manufacturer, for example, have likely been made under tight controls because these companies already have in place manufacturing standards for their other products. Write to the supplement manufacturer for more information. Ask the company about the conditions under which its products were made. Hope this helps! I remember taking a similar product that gave me too much fire. It also make my face break out. I thought I was a teenager at the age 50. All the elements must be balanced and there are many different ways to do it that will suit our own constitutions and being. Guest guest
I have tried using Ginko Biloba before. I used one per day at 30 mg each for a week and it made me nervous, angry, irritable and jittery... I had no patience with anything or my kids and would fly off the handle irrationally for no reason...I would love to be able to get the benefits of improved memory that is reputed to have but I don't seem to be able to tolerate it well...
