Guest guest
Sat Nam Rita: There are lots of audio (and video) tapes and books related to KY (you can get Gururrattan Kaur's books through her website, at http://www.yogatech.com). For a complete list of the truly vast number of audio and video tapes & CD's, you can call Golden Temple at 800-829-3970 and ask for a catalog. Sat = Truth Nam = Name or Identity So, "Truth is My Identity". When you say it to somebody else, "Truth is Your Identity". Guest guest
Dear Rita: > in mantras can you request any audio tapes(to help in pronouncing >the words and meanings of them). In general, the audio tapes will provide a mantra (or several), usually in a musical format, so that you can simply put the tape on and chant along with it, so you'll get the pronunciation. The meaning is typically included in the printed material. Books (like Gururattan Kaur's on the www.yogatech.com site) will provide a number of different mantras and the meanings. Usually you can figure out the pronunciation because the mantras are given phonetically - plus the same words are used over and over, so once you've learned a few, it is pretty simple to figure out the rest. One thing to be aware of is that the letter "R" is usually (for example, in "guru" or "har") pronounced like a Spanish or reflexive "R" - the tongue should hit the upper palate, so it almost sounds like a "D". If you find any tricky ones, I'm sure someone here will be happy to help out. > Namaste, > Sat Nam, > Rita I invented a new greeting to help bring all the yoga people together: Sat Namaste!
