Guest guest
Hi! My name is Edward E. Jackson. I have been a member of this group for about three months. Until now I have not introduced because I am a very shy person by nature. Also I am a total new to Kundalini Yoga. I would like to learn more about Kundalini Yoga but, I can find any teachers in my area. I live in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Could someone please suggest a good beginning Kundalini Yoga book or videotape? I also remember reading about online Kundalini Yoga lessons someplace. Does anyone know the address of this web site? I hope someone can help me because, I am a total beginner. I would also like to learn more about Sikhism. I not sure if this group deals with Sikhism at all. I was raised as Roman Catholic but, I have never felt close to God. I have researched a lot of religions for the past four years. I have decided to become a Sikh. There are not any Sikhs in my area. Could anyone tell me what the first step is in becoming a convert of Sikhism is? I think that Sikhism is the religion that I have been searching for. I feel that Sikhism will let me create a closer friendship with God. I will be visiting my cousin who is a Sikh next May for my birthday. My cousin's name is Guru Fateh Kaur Khalsa. Maybe some of you know her. She lives at the Sikh community in New Mexico. I would like to learn more about Sikhism before I visit my cousin. I have been considering converting to Sikhism for two years. Until now I have not had the courage to start the process of becoming a Sikh. I have a strong sincere desire to become a Sikh. I hope someone can help me. I just need a starting point. I attend night classes at the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. I also work full-time at Target. My major is broadcast journalism. I am 27 and a African American. I hope that I have not offended anyone because that was never my intent sorry that I wrote so much. I am a very shy person that just wants to learn more about Sikhism and Kundalini Yoga! Thank you. Sincerely, Edward E. Jackson
Guest guest
Hi Edward Welcome to Kundalini Yoga, or rather to active membership of the list! ;-) To find out more about Sikhism you should try Sikh Net http://www.sikhnet.com/ They have a whole host of stuff on there, and you should find answers to your questions. One thing I would say to you from my own experience - unlike some other religions, you don't need to become a Sikh to gain acceptance from Sikhs! There is also a link to that site along with a whole host of other interesting sites from the Kundalini Yoga site - kundalini yogalinks.html Many of the questions that seem to be asked on here week in, week out, can also be answered by a little digging around there. Over the last 18 months the site has become one of the leading on-line resources for information about Kundalini Yoga. Sat Nam!
