Guest guest
Hi, My name is Marcos..... I sended this letter to you because I need some help about Practicing Yoga. Last month, I'm beginning to practice Reiki (level one) because I'not feel happy about my tipical life-style ("working-eating-slepping-watching TV"). I decided to start a new life-style more spiritual-oriented so I'm starting to do some hatha yoga in my house with a book I bought last week. Every mornings I try to wake up early to practice Hatha, but I can't do it and I say : "Well, I'll do it tomorrow....". And the next day this situation happend again and again. I feel like a need some push from somewhere but I don't know where I coud find this energy to take the decition. I don't feel happy about this.... The yoga master who wrote the book I read said : "If you feel sad the first days just keep trying and suddenly you'll have all benefits from yoga practice"..... I'd like to practice some kind of yoga....Is kundalini a good yoga to start than Hatta ? Please give me some advice.... Thank you very much. Marcos Vera Y P.D: Which is the meaning of SaT Nam ? Guest guest
YOU SEEM TO HAVE AN INTERESTING DILEMMA. FIRSTLY, I THINK A QUALIFIED INSTRUCTOR IS A MUST. A MASTER; IN THE TRUEST SENSE OF THE WORD. SECOND IF YOU DO A LITTLE AT A TIME WITH A BOOK EVENTUALLY YOU WILL GAIN FAMILIARITY AND NOTICE THE BENEFITS. A ROLLING STONE GATHERS NO MOSS. TRY NOT TO BE SO GOAL ORIENTED. AS I UNDERSTAND IT KUNDALINI YOGA IS AN ANCIENT AND MORE IMPORTANTLY A RESPECTED SCIENCE. BE AWARE THOUGH, THAT IT IS A MATTER OF INDIVIDUALITY. DIFFERENT YOGAS FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE. IT IS A MATTER ALSO OF YOUR PERSONAL COMMITMENT WITH GOD. IF YOU PRAY FOR HIS HELP TO START LIVING A HAPPIER, HEALTHIER AND WHOLE LIFE HE WILL RESPOND. HOWEVER, IT TAKES AWARENESS TO UNDERSTAND THE ANSWER. EVERYONE IS NOT READY FOR SPIRITUALITY THAT MAKES SUCH A DECLARATION. WE OFTEN LOOK TO THE WRONG PLACE; TAKE SELF-RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE BY DOING WHAT YOU CAN ON YOUR OWN AND PRAY FOR A MASTERS GUIDANCE. REMEMBER THOUGH; THERE ARE MANY LEVELS OF MASTERY AND THE TEACHER YOU ENCOUNTER WILL CORRESPOND TO YOUR OWN CAPACITY. WHAT MADE YOU GAIN INTEREST IN YOGA? EXAMINE YOUR MOTIVES. TRUE SPIRITUALITY IS TO COMMUNE WITH GOD. IT IS KNOWONES PLACE BUT HE TO WRITE HIS DESTINY UPON YOU; EMPTY OUT AND LET HIS LIGHT FILL YOU. THAT IS MY ADVICE. WE ARE ALL SICK ,HOW CAN WE THEN PRESCRIBE FOR OUR AILMENTS ; SEEK A DOCTOR.................. A MASTER. DON'T LOSE FAITH; DO AS THY SOUL DICTATES TO THEE AND THE END SHALL ALWAYS BE MADE RIGHT. BY THE WAY SAT NAAM IS THE HIGHEST FREQUENCY OF YOURSELF BUT FAR BETTER THAN DEFINITION IS YOUR EXPERIENCING IT.MAN KNOWS NOT BY BEING TOLD. SAT NAAM! Guest guest
Sat Nam Marcos! "Sat Nam" is the most basic mantra of KY (kundalini yoga), and simply means "truth is my identity". We often use it as a replacement for both hello and goodbye (when you say it someone else, "truth is your identity"). > Every mornings I try to wake up early to practice Hatha, but I A good way to begin is to simply practice each day at any time that works for you. The early morning hours are certainly the best, but if that doesn't work for you, don't worry about it. The goal is to practice something - even just a little bit - every day. You can always move to an early morning practice later (I didn't begin an early morning practice for years). > I feel like a need some push from somewhere but I don't know where It is very helpful to find a class to attend once a week. You will find the energy level of a class very beneficial, and a teacher can help you with techniques and positions that can be difficult to figure out on your own. If you can't find a class, you might consider getting some videos to work with - again, it will be easier to pick up some of the practices this way. > The yoga master who wrote the book I read said : "If you feel sad Yoga, or any spiritual practice, can cause a lot of emotional turmoil when you first start practicing, as you begin to work through things that have kept you stuck. Persistence really pays off - but it is important not to try to push yourself too quickly, or you will make it more difficult to continue - for example, because you make yourself sore from overdoing the stretching, or because the emotional changes seem too overwhelming. Just be patient with yourself. Put yourself in the role of the teacher (you ARE the teacher), and be as patient and loving with yourself as you would be teaching something to your child. In this case, your inner child > I'd like to practice some kind of yoga....Is kundalini a good yoga to start than Hatta ? I think so! I practiced hatha on and off for more than a dozen years, and never got much out of it. From my very first class in KY I felt it was doing much more for me than hatha ever did, and it seemed very easy and natural to begin a regular daily practice. Congratulations on taking some positive steps to make your life happier. I wish you much joy and success as you progress on your spiritual path. Love & blessings, Sadhant Singh
Guest guest
As a sedentary person (who fights it everyday) I know how hard it is to get up and do ANYTHING, so I sympathize with you. I can't recommend one type of yoga over another, I'm just not that knowledgable. I can make the recommendation that you might want to consider changing the time that you practice. Instead of morning, try afternoon or evening. Yes, morning is probably one of the best times to practice, but if you just can't seem to get out of bed to do it than you should move to a time when you can. Later, when you have begun to feel some of the benefits of yoga you can try moving your practice again to mornings. At any rate, good luck to you in your attempt to create a new life. Guest guest
The way I started yoga was once a week I went to class and received instruction for six weeks. I then bought some Living Art tapes (no offense to other publishers, please) and started with the simple 20 minute video tape named "A.M." I didn't try another tape for a couple months when I felt I was ready to move on the another level. They have various tapes but some would scare a person away from starting because they have very advanced movements. Make sure the tape has "for beginners" on the cover. Another is feeding your cells and recouping the damaged ones with enzymes. I take a product with super blue green algae because it literally makes my body feel alive again. Now that I have experienced this, I will always take this as a food needed. The enzymes may help you feel lighter and ready to bend, stretch, etc. and will help to eliminate the "bad" bacteria we hold in our digestive tract. Good Luck Marcos.
