Guest guest
Hello, I got "Sexuality and Spiruality" by Yogi Bhajan and he talks about how dangerous it can be when the Kundalini rises. He says there will be no problems if the student "uses the neck lock with the neck very straight." Throughout the whole book he does talk about the root lock with some asanas-but I never the neck lock! Shouldn't the diaphram and neck locks be used with the root lock? thanks Steven ----- Sent using MailStart.com ( http://MailStart.Com/welcome.html ) The FREE way to access your mailbox via any web browser, anywhere! Guest guest
Sat Nam Steven: > lock! Shouldn't the > diaphram and neck locks be used with the root lock? Typically the root lock is used to complete each posture - that is, you inhale (or exhale), hold the breath (in or out), and apply the lock. Every posture should be concluded this way unless otherwise specified. We do not apply the upper locks in this situation unless it is specified. There are specific exercises when one should use the diaphragm lock - they will always say so - for example, see Guraka Kriya on page 41. Only use this lock when it is specified. To practice using all the locks, see the Bhanda exercise on page 187. The neck lock should always be applied when you are practicing pranayam (breath exercises) or meditating. Sometimes a meditation will specify the use of other locks, as in Doi Shabd Meditation on page 136, but only use the locks (other than neck lock) when they are specified. Many blessings, Sadhant
