I listen closely when you say live spiritually in order to align divine purpose with universal energies; to flow and expand as one, and I try my best to do these things and live with minimal impact upon my earth. But when I look with objectivity at the big picture, I see powerful corporate forces at work against the air I breathe, water I drink, and growing sick food to eat. I ask, "Is it ever to be enough?" It upsets me deeply to see a majority of people in denial that major flooding happens because the rain forest is cut; to see penquins land in Rio because underwater currents they follow are being changed by global warming misleading them to warm places instead of the cold they need to survive. It disgusts me to see commercials trying to influence the public into thinking that a luxury car is a spiritual thing or, that a gas guzzling SUV is necessary. How will karmic debt like this ever be paid when nations live beyond their means, weakening universal energy? Will outer goals align when inner goals no longer support useless things manufactured by corporations without soul or universal energy? I can only hope and meditate that our numbers in spirit will overcome the numbers without spirit. Will my earth's spirit be healthy, happy and holy only when we are? Guest guest
Dear Nancy, > It upsets me deeply to see a majority of people in denial... I have certainly felt like this before. Until I realized this: your duty, your dharma, is exactly that: your duty. Start with yourself, and do the right thing. The right thing isn't to be upset about what others do. If people keep breaking glass around you, your duty is just to pick up the pieces. This way you help yourself and you help the universe as well. Do not get involved in negative interactions - be they anger or whatever else. Remember what Jesus said? "Forgive them, for they know not what they do". They will understand when there is the time for them to understand. Until then, do your work - with joy and love. And that in itself will go a step towards making other people pay attention. This is my humble opinion. > Will my earth's spirit be healthy, happy and holy only when we are? Yes, I think so. That is why they say, start with yourself... Peace and blessings, Satsang Kaur
Guest guest
Hello Nancy, Let me tell a legend. When Lucifer was banish from Heaven, he took with him one third of the angels. That means a lot! That means that we have two thirds of good and only one third of "evil" in the Earth. So there must be more good things for us to praise than bad things to criticize. So, dear Nancy, it's our choice where to look, it's our choice what really matters and deserve our attention. When we pay close attention to the bad news, we are supporting them with our energy! I am not saying that we have to ignore the poor, the sick, the pollution, and so on. I am saying that there are things that are beyond our personal power. What is beyond my personal power is not for me to mend, of course. Otherwise, Life or God would give me a lot more of power to help the world. But Life didn't chose me as Its assistance in big jobs. So I simply let the big job to some else that has the means and the power to do what is better, and go on doing what I can do to help those that are around me. I really believe in Life, or God, or Love or Truth. That's all the same for me. I know IT has the means to solve everything when IT wants to. God didn't make anything wrong. If He made us capable of destroying the Earth, IT certainly has a good reason for that. I really believe that everything is always right and perfect following the adequate path to be each time more conscious of its innate perfectness. The things we do may not be perfect, but we *are* perfect. That's the play of Maya. Whatever characteristics, events or conditions you pay attention to will tend to increase according to the amount of energy you offer and the responsiveness of the object. When we criticize a person or condition, even if well meant, will tend to reinforce the behavior we criticized. Admiring and praising the good things will help reinforce (by a surcharge of energy) the good, regardless they know your opinion or not, because the universe responds in some ways to love. I noticed that when I criticize my computer it tends to "break down" more, if I praise it, it will tend to work better. We live in a world of energy, we are inside an ocean of energy. It's our choice to what we are going to give our energy or to where we decide to direct it. That's what KY and all spiritual paths are all about. What are YOU doing with your energy? Dear, I live in Brazil. Have you heard about Brazil? Mostly awful things, isn't it? Can you imagine how disconsolate I would live if I were to choose to pay attention only to the ugly things that happens here? Would I be of any help to my country and to the world suffering with so many people? I chose to give what I have, and that's all everybody can do. Nobody can give what they don't have. If I cultivate happiness inside me, I have a lot to share! Be happy, dear Nancy. The world is going all right. Everybody is doing the best they can. And there are a lot inside and outside us to praise and thank everyday. Guest guest
Dear Claudia and Nancy, Claudia, I really appreciate your response to Nancy. In the context of this most interesting discussion, I would like to add that we are always given opportunities to raise the vibration of the planet to a higher level. Of course, we don't like many things as Nancy pointed out. We are not supposed to like them. But our challenge is not to dwell in the negative, but to do our part in changing what we can. And all change starts with changing ourselves. The more we find the love in our own being, the more we will project love into the world. We tend to think that we have to do big projects to make a difference. But if we are angry while doing them, we may do more harm than good. Anger as a basic emotion is a motivation to act, not an excuse to destroy. I remember so well that one of the major environmental protesters who went to the Earth Summit in Rio in 1992 and caused a lot of commotion died of cancer two years later. Humm. I think his anger killed him. Not good for him and not good for the world. He really cared, he just didn't know how to accomplish want he so sincerely wanted. There are so many lessons we all have to learn. Learning together is very helpful. Thank you everyone very much.
