Guest guest
first, sat nam & happy new year to everybody on the list. As a lot of people wrote on the list in the last days, i'm also really thankfull for all the precious writing on this list. i have questions about the morning sadhana, i wonder if i am on the right way in the way i do it every morning (i have a bit less than 1 hour to do it..). There is what i do, tell me if im wrong or if there could be something better to do: -first thing after tunning in with the mantra, i do the krya for elevation as taught by YB (it takes me about 30 minutes to do it. But i wonder if i should do a short relaxation after each exercise of this krya?) - at the end of this krya, relaxation in corpse pose for around 5 minutes (should this be relaxation or meditation with silent mantra? What should i do with all thoses thoughts comming at that time? =) - chanting long ek ong kar for 11 minutes. i hope somebody can bring some light to my questions! sat nam! m-c
Guest guest
Dear m-c: Sounds like an excellent sadhana to me - good for you!! When you are first learning a kriya, it is good to take a short relaxation (not lying down, but seated) at the end of each asana, but it is not necessary. I complete each exercise by (holding the breath and applying root lock and then) relaxing for 1-2 deep breaths, or a few more more if I need to catch my breath. > - at the end of this krya, relaxation in corpse pose for around 5 > minutes (should this be relaxation or meditation with silent mantra? Just relaxation. If you want to think "Sat" on the inhale and "Nam" on the exhale, that is fine too. > What should i do with all thoses thoughts comming at that time? =) Just allow them and let them go. It is the job of your mind to produce thoughts - just try not to get caught up in them. > i hope somebody can bring some light to my questions! You are doing great!!! Keep it up!!! Guest guest
dear sadhant, thanks a lot for the answer and the comments on it =) I would like to get a exemple of a sadhana wich would not take more than 15 minutes to do for the days when i'm too lazy (!) or when i just cant get the time to do my 1 hour sadhana. It's really important for me to do a kundalini practice everyday, even if its not a lot, to keep up. Another question (sorry for having so much theses days, but its holidays you know.. ;-), so, to conclude a session, is it really important to chant the "may the long time sun shine.." prayer for 3 times, with 2 long sat nam? Can we end up a session without chanting this prayer? What is this prayer for? sat nam, m-c >Dear m-c: > >Sounds like an excellent sadhana to me - good for you!! Guest guest
Sat Nam m-c: > I would like to get a exemple of a sadhana wich would not take more > than 15 minutes to do for the days when i'm too lazy (!) or when i How about doing the kriya you are working on with just 1 minute per exercise? Skip the relaxation (YB always said we will get the long relaxation soon enough Gururattan's books all provide the "15-minute Morning Set", or "Warm- up exercise set", another good choice, and if you squeeze in 3 minutes of chanting, the whole thing might take 20 minutes. THere are lots of kriyas which can be done in 15-20 minutes if you stick to the shortest times. > times, with 2 long sat nam? Can we end up a session without chanting > this prayer? What is this prayer for? If I'm in a hurry, I just chant 3 long "Sat Nam" - the sunshine song is a nice prayer, and I like to sing it, but I don't consider it an absolute necessity (except for ending my classes). You could always sing it as you are getting up and leaving, if you'd like. I don't know that it means any more than what the words say, it is a prayer for yourself and those around you. Many blessings! Sadhant
