Guest guest
Hello. I've been on this list for a bit now and have found it extremely beneficial. I am now looking for a little bit of help...... I have been practicing kundalini yoga for approximately 7 years and am in my third year of teaching after taking my teacher training and being certified. I was teaching 2 classes per week, one from my home and one at a local YMCA. The YMCA decided in October to discontinue the class to make room for another hatha yoga class, which seemed to be more popular. I don't understand this, but accept it. I am still teaching a class from my home, which is growing slowly. My problem seems to be that I am in a slump. Other than doing some daily pranayam and a few neck rolls and spinal stretches, I have pretty much stopped doing my sadhana. I've tried several times to force myself back into it, to no avail. I understand that this can happen and accept that, but I need some ideas/suggestions on how to get out of this slump. I still enjoy teaching my class, and my students love the class, but I am feeling somewhat hypocritical suggesting sadhana to them when I have stopped mine. Any help would be appreciated.....Sadhant? Any ideas to help me? In advance, I thank you all. Sat Nam and Peace, Devta Kaur
Guest guest
Dear Devta Kaur: When I am having trouble with my practice, I find that the best thing is to practice with other people. Is there a class in the area that you can take, or friends who have a regular practice that you can participate in? Some sort of group yoga event (white tantric yoga) might also provide some spark and motivation. What you describe sounds like it could be a manifestation of shakti pad, the 3rd stage of spiritual development. Simply knowing this, and studying about it, may be helpful. At teacher training, YB mentioned that this mantra is particularly helpful in shakti pad: Ardas Baye, Amar Das Guru Ardas Baye, Ram Das Guru Ram Das Guru, Suche Sahe And remember, if you are doing something every day, you are still doing sadhana! Love & blessings, Sadhant

Guest guest
Hi Nancy: My class at Murray High should be starting soon, but they haven't called to tell me which night. It will be Tuesdays at 6:30 - you can call the continuing ed. dept. to find out more and to register. Many blessings, Sadhant
Guest guest
Sadhant.... Thank you for your words and advice. Unfortunately, even though there are classes at the ashram, I cannot take part in them at the moment. I am out of the house a couple of nights a week for other commitments, and I cannot take the time to add yet another night away from my children. The only time I do yoga with others, is during the class that I teach, which I am happy to say seems to be growing slowly, as I have gotten two new students in the past week. I have gone back through my material and will re-study up on shakti pad. Thanks again to you and the others who wrote.
