Guest guest
Hello everyone: Once I read in a yoga book that one should not take a shower after doing yoga., I live in a hot weather, and usually train early in the morning, and then go to work. I wait about 30 mins. before showering, and I was wondering if takin a shower after, may affect the benefits you get from KY (i´m new to this list). And, is it the same, if it´s a cold or warm shower? Guest guest
Hi, everyone. I'm new to the group but not new to yoga or spiritual practice. I always take one after so I'm not all sweaty before work. And I do sweat after a KY session! Then, after the shower, I sit and meditate and do morning prayers. I actually use my hot morning shower as part of sadhana and if it's all in the wrong order, I still don't see myself changing it since, first, I have to make a living and I'm required to smell clean and nice in my job and second, I'm benefiting very nicely from the practices. I'm 36 years old and am often told I look and move like someone 10 years younger than that! Just my two cents...:-) Jaya Sampten Gyamtso
Guest guest
Sat Nam friends: We recommend that you take a cold shower before you begin your practice - note that this is hydrotherapy, and is designed to stimulate your glands (as well as other benefits) and is an excellent preparation for yoga. YB recommends that you do not take hot showers unless you have several hours to wrap up in a blanket afterward: use a luke-warm shower for cleansing purposes. I recommend taking a (lukewarm) shower after your sadhana (rather than between the yoga and the meditation). Yoga prepares you to sit, and stimulates energy movement in a way that facilitates meditation, and stopping to take a shower in-between is probably not the best sequence. My routine is cold shower, yoga, meditation, and then I usually have a little fruit and/or some yogi tea, and then I go walking. After this I take a warm shower and eat something more solid. Love & blessings, Sadhant
