cannon breath

Sat Nam Deb:

I'm familiar with cannon-fire breath, in which (after holding the

breath) the breath is exhaled as quickly and powerfully as possible.

Is this what you mean? Also, although I've looked through a lot of

books without finding a specific reference, I have a vague memory of

the term cannon breath applied to a breath of fire through rounded

lips. What set (and book) is this used in?

All blessings,

Sadhant

in the book breathwalk they refer to cannon breath as being similar

to breath of fire, but with the exale trough the mouth. the mouth

should be rond (not as giving a kiss and not all open, the just

middle)

Thanks for the reference, m-c (I knew it was in one of my books :)

BTW, I notice that the cannon breath is a bit slower than breath of

fire (at least, BOF at the higher speeds that one develops with

practice) - BOF is 120-180 times a minute, while cannon breath should

be 120-130.

Many blessings,

Sadhant

The book I saw it in was "Owner's Manual For The Human Body" In the set "Let

the liver live"

It says (extremely powerful, explosive breath) and to do it through the

mouth. I wasn't sure if this was with the tougue curled and out, or how

fast, or as metioned above, how open your mouth was to be. I tried it with

my tougue out and quickly, what an awful, taste in my mouth!!! Is this a

sign of detoxifying? I am gradually reforming my lifestyle.

yeah, it is. I think if u do it for long then should come a sweet taste

In her book the 8 human talents (what a nerds am i no? ;), gurmukh

kaur khalsa give a similar exercise with the tonge out and she talk

about the taste u got.

but i dont know if the cannon breath needs the tonge out. I can

check in the book when im back home..

Dear deb:

The tongue is not out or curled. Just form the mouth into a small

circle and do the (possibly slower) powerful BOF through that. You

should feel pressure on the top of your tongue and in the backs of

the cheeks.

> sign of detoxifying? I am gradually reforming my lifestyle.

Yes, that is a sign of detoxification. I find this especially with

sitali pranayam (long deep breath through the curled tongue). Over

time, that unpleasant taste has diminished, although it hasn't become

sweet, which they say will eventually happen.

All blessings,

Sat Nam,

Sounds like Breathwalk has intoduced another form of cannon breath. The one

I know is

The tongue is not out or curled. Just form the mouth into a small circle.

Expel the air through the mouth powerfully lika a cannon. Not fast like

BOF. I think this is the one referred to in the set mentioned.

Sat Nam,

Gururattan Kaur
