Thank you, Sadhant for the information on both the Gong CD (I will

soon be ordering one) and head covering options. I have medium short

(not long enough to tie back) curly wavy locks which love to greet

the universe by at times standing on end or lopsided over my eyes,

especially when I first awaken. I will find the turban info very

useful for my practice. No more blowing hair out of my face! Since

I'm just starting out on this path, the less distractions the better.

I've also been finding that though slightly less traditional,

instrumental hawaiian slack key is wonderful when doing my practice.

There is a CD put out by Water Lily Acoustics called A Meeting By The

River with Ry Cooder and V.M.Bhatt to be wonderful for this purpose

as well.

On another note, I would be very interested in how each of us

approaches their daily practice. What is a group KY class like and

for those of us who are solitary practitioners, what do we each do

day to day? Do some of us utilize videos as I have in starting out?

Are there some of us here who practice more than once a day or maybe

only several times a week? How did we each come to discover KY in our

lives? I'd be interested to know and to swap stories, anecdotes, etc…

If this has already been done, let me know and I'll look up stuff in

the archives.

Blessings,

Hello Lily

I am very new to Kundalini and Yoga ! I discovered Kundalini Yoga when

dabbling into some eart magic, which I never did before. I tried some tree

magic, not really believing it would work, But one day I was looking out the

window while running my sons bath and there was this huge bird flying around,

I watched him fly back and forth and was mesmorized by him, he soon landed

just a foot away from the tree where I had performed the tree magic. He just

sat there, ruffled his feathers and flew off a few minutes later. He was a

Red Tailed Hawk! I had never seen one before, and then a few days later I saw

him again sitting on a fence post, he flew right at me as I watched from an

upstairs window , then he swooped around the corner of the house, he was so

close and beautiful! So I went to barnes and noble and found this book called

Animal-Speak, by Ted Andrews. When I read about the hawk it told me I would

be working with the Kundalini, and so I looked up Kundalini, not even knowing

it was a form of yoga. And well here I am just starting out.

sorry so long!

Debbie

Dear Lily:

You are very welcome!

Some of this was a fairly recent topic of discussion - try searching

for "daily routine".

Many people don't have access to a class, and I believe videos are a

very popular approach in that situation. Classes are great because

of the energy of the group and the opportunity to meet other people

with similar interests - even though I have been teaching for several

years, I still attend classes quite regularly. These days it seems

like such a luxury to just be told what to do!

:)

Love & blessings,

Sadhant
