You can chant or sing with the music - or chant or sing on your own. The only exception to this that I can think of is that some meditations specify a particular breath and/or rhythm with a given mantra, and you may or may not be able to find a recording that matches the requirements. Guest guest
Dear Marcos, > In relation with KY mantras............ > Are there some difference to sing a mantra with the help of one audio CD or without it ? In addition to what Sadhant Singh said, the repetion of mantras stimulates different parts of the brain and opens the heart. The music can facilitate the devotion and joy. If it is synchronized with the cosmic nad or sound current it greatly facilitates both opening the heart and stimulates the brain cells that connect us to the divine vibration. You have to be selective when you choose musical versions of the chants. Some work better than others. And some work for some people and not for others. If a certain version is very pleasing to you then it probably works for you, if you find it irritating, I would select another version. Chanting in a monotone is always good because you are concentrating on your own voice and get into the sound current and rhythm of the mantra.
