Guest guest
Sat Nam to everybody! The daughter of a good friend of mine (8 years old) faints very often although the doctors couldn't find anything wrong with her. Once I heard that if this happen, it might be that the soul is not 100% convinced to be here on this earth. These children are often "in the clouds" and look absent, which is the case of this girl. Can anyone tell me something more about it? Is there any meditation, food, exercise that the child can do? Thank you! Guest guest
Sat Nam, Well, to just share my thoughts, I would suggest grounding exercises. I wrote a post a little while back sharing what my journey with grounding has been. I started getting dizzy pretty often when I was a girl (I really don't remember how old- though I think elementary school age is about right). I didn't faint, though. I have fainted a bunch of times later in life, like when I was about to or had blood taken, and had my naval pierced. So, that is a bit different. Anyway, I know it was my feeling from the start that it was something spiritual, though I didn't have any words for the feelings. I remember asking my aunt who practiced yoga, hoping she would be able to explain something, but she just said I was growing and maybe it was my inner ear balancing. I was dissappointed. It wasn't until I moved to Washington state when I was 18 that I learned about being grounded. My boyfriend (now husband) and I would go to a gathering once a month called "energy circle". There were shamans and healers of various traditions that would come together and then all work on one person at a time. It was great. You never knew what crazy stuff could happen. One time everyone worked on getting me into my body. Perhaps this girl could see a shaman or a healer (?), just a thought. But, I know overall for me it was becoming conscious of being in my body. When I would get dizzy I would squat down and concentrate on the earth beneath me and breathe deeply. I started eating regularily. Whenever possible I sit with my back to a tree. Visualizing yourself as a tree with roots coming out of your feet is helpful, as are other visualizations that I can't think of. Perhaps some of these techniques may be helpful for this girl. I would have loved the help when I was young! Olympia Lietz [olympia.lietz] Monday, March 05, 2001 9:18 AM Kundaliniyoga Fainting Sat Nam to everybody!
